Shota Imanaga shuts down Phillies Tuesday
by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Wed, Apr 22nd 12:54am EDT
Shota Imanaga allowed just a run on three hits in seven innings on Tuesday as the Cubs won their seventh consecutive game with a 7-4 victory over Philadelphia, which lost its seventh straight contest.
Fantasy Impact:
Imanaga, uncharacteristically, struck out only one batter on Tuesday, but induced a lot of weak contact and needed only 87 pitches to get through seven innings. His only mistake came in the sixth when Kyle Schwarber took him deep - just the third home run the lefthander has allowed in 24 innings. Imanaga has pitched to a 1.13 ERA and a 0.54 WHIP in four April starts and, overall, is 2-1 with a 2.17 ERA and a 32:6 K:BB ratio. He'll have a stiff challenge the next time out as he is scheduled to square off against the Dodgers on Sunday.
