Merrill Kelly hammered by White Sox in second start of season

Merrill Kelly allowed eight runs on ten hits - including three home runs - in 4.1 innings on Tuesday as the Diamondbacks dropped an 11-5 decision to the White Sox.

Kelly gave up four runs in the first inning and then served up back-to-back-to-back solo home runs to Munetaka Murakami, Miguel Vargas, and Colson Montgomery as the White Sox jumped out to a 7-0 advantage after two innings. Kelly walked three and struck out five as he dropped to 1-1 on the season. The righthander has allowed 22 baserunners (15 hits, 7 walks) in his first two starts, covering 9.2 innings. Kelly will look to rebound in his next scheduled start on Tuesday in Milwaukee.
