Luis Gil optioned to Triple-A

by David Leisering | Yankees Correspondent | Sun, Apr 26th 7:31pm EDT

Luis Gil has been optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by the New York Yankees. (New York Yankees on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Gil struggled again on Sunday in a 7-4 loss to the Astros and the Yankees decided to send him back to Triple-A following his outing. Gil, who won AL Rookie of the Year honors in 2024, is 1-2 with a 6.05 ERA in four starts with New York this season. More concerning, however, is the 11 walks and three hit batters - to just nine strikeouts - in 19.1 innings. He's also served up six home runs this season. Gil will head to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to work on some things and should return to the Yankees at some point later in the season.
