Joey Bart smacks solo home run Thursday
by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Fri, May 8th 7:37am EDT
Joey Bart went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday, helping the Pirates to a 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Fantasy Impact:
Bart hit his solo home run with two outs in the sixth inning off of Arizona starter, Zac Gallen, to give the Pirates a 4-2 lead. It was just his second home run of the season, as he and Henry Davis have not provided a ton of offense from the catcher position in Pittsburgh. Bart, however, is showing signs of snapping out of his season-long skid. After hitting just .105 (2-for-19) in his first eight games, Bart is batting .290 (9-for-31) with two home runs and three RBI over his last 11 contests. Bart has shown success at the big league level in the past, so don't be surprised if he becomes a viable fantasy option at some point in 2026.
