Ryan Waldschmidt singles in first major league at bat Friday

Ryan Waldschmidt had a pinch-hit single in his major league debut on Friday as the Diamondbacks suffered a 3-1, 10-inning loss to the Mets.
Fantasy Impact:
Waldschmidt was called up to the major league roster earlier in the day and laced a pinch-hit single in the eighth inning against Mets' reliever, Brooks Raley, in his first major league at bat. The top Arizona prospect replaced Alek Thomas, who was designated for assignment, by the Diamondbacks in a corresponding move. Waldschmidt was hitting .289 with three home runs and six stolen bases at Triple-A Reno before the call up. He hit .289 with 18 home runs and 29 stolen bases in the minors last season. He'll be given every opportunity to contribute right out of the gate for the Diamondbacks. If you haven't done so already, you may want to take a flier on him, especially in deeper leagues, as his power-speed combo is quite intriguing.
