Shota Imanaga suffers loss in pitching duel Wednesday

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Thu, May 14th 6:38am EDT

Shota Imanaga allowed two runs on five hits in seven strong innings on Wednesday, but was outdueled by the Braves' staff in a 4-1 loss.

Fantasy Impact:

Imanaga retired the first seven batters he faced before allowing back-to-back singles in the third. However, he induced a 6-4-3 double play ball to end that threat. In the fourth, however, Imanaga surrendered a solo home run to Drake Baldwin, but then faced the minimum, until a leadoff single by Michael Harris II - who would come in to score - in the eighth before exiting. Imanaga has not allowed more than six hits in any of his nine starts this season and has allowed two runs or fewer in seven of his outings. The lefthander is 4-3 with a 2.32 ERA, a 0.90 WHIP, and a 59:13 K:BB ratio in 54.1 innings and will take on the Brewers, at home, on Monday.
