Colin Rea struggles in loss to Braves Tuesday

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Wed, May 13th 12:27pm EDT

Colin Rea allowed five runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings of work on Tuesday as the Cubs suffered a 5-2 loss to the Braves.

Fantasy Impact:

Rea allowed just a run on three hits through the first four innings, but disaster struck in the fifth as he was charged with four runs on four hits while retiring just one batter. Austin Riley led off the inning with a solo home run and then, three batters later, Mike Yastrzemski tagged him for a two-run homer as the Braves erased a 2-1 deficit. It was the first time this season that Rea allowed more than one home run in a start and he also struck out just one batter on Tuesday - a season-low. Rea will take a 4-2 record and a 4.68 ERA into his next start against the White Sox on Sunday.
