Spencer Strider racks up nine strikeouts in Thursday's win
by Nate Miller | Braves Correspondent | Fri, May 22nd 10:32am EDT
Spencer Strider allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine over 6 1/3 innings in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Marlins.
Fantasy Impact:
Three of the four hits Strider surrendered on Thursday were solo home runs. Two of them were hit by All-Star outfielder Kyle Stowers. Aside from that, Strider overpowered the Marlins' bats, setting a new season-high in strikeouts while improving to 2-0 through four starts. The hard-throwing righty has issued a dozen walks over just 21.0 innings this season, but he has countered that with 27 strikeouts and by limiting the opposition to a .171 AVG.
