Jarred Kelenic has been designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox. The move allows Rikuu Nishida to join the active roster for the series opener against the Twins. (Robert Murray on X)
Fantasy Impact:
A once highly-touted prospect, Kelenic has not been able to put it all together at the major league level. The outfielder was batting .226 (12-for-53) with a home run and six RBI in 19 games with the White Sox. In parts of six seasons in the majors, Kelenic is a lifetime .211 hitter with 50 home runs in 426 career games. Still just 26 years old, Kelenic will look to get back to the majors at some point later this season.
