Ben Brown posts another strong outing in no-decision Monday

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Mon, May 25th 8:12pm EDT

Ben Brown allowed a run on four hits in six innings on Monday, but settled for a no-decision in the Cubs' 2-1 loss to the Pirates.

Fantasy Impact:

Brown walked two and struck out seven in his season-best six innings of work, allowing only an RBI double to Brandon Lowe in the third inning. He tied his season-high with seven strikeouts and also threw a season-high 83 pitches on the afternoon. Brown has been great as a starter, going 0-1 with a 1.89 ERA in four starts with a 23:6 K:BB ratio in 19 innings. Overall, the young righthander is 1-2 with a 2.01 ERA in 16 appearances. He should be owned in most formats as he continues to go deeper into games for the Cubs. Brown is lined up to take on the Cardinals in St. Louis on Saturday.
