Nick Madrigal went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles on Friday during the Angels' 8-5 loss to the Rays.

Fantasy Impact:

Madrigal, who had his contract selected by the Angels on Wednesday after Nolan Schanuel (ankle) was placed on the IL, had a pair of singles in his season debut on Friday. The veteran started at third base and batted seventh with Oswald Peraza starting at second and Vaughn Grissom moving to first. Madrigal was hitting .275 in 38 games at Triple-A Salt Lake prior to his call-up. He's a career .275 hitter with just four home runs in 872 career major league at bats and will be part of the infield rotation while Schanuel and Yoan Moncada (knee) are on the mend. He can be left on waivers.
