by David Leisering | Marlins Correspondent | Mon, Jun 1st 12:14am EDT
Zach Brzycky will have his contract selected by the Miami Marlins prior to their game on Monday against the Nationals, according to multiple sources. A corresponding move will need to be made, but one has not been announced as of yet. (Kevin Barral on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Brzykcy has made 17 appearances at Triple-A Jacksonville this season, posting a 2-1 record with a 5.24 ERA and a 26:12 K:BB ratio in 22.1 innings. The righthander has pitched in parts of two seasons in the big leagues - both with Washington - and has not fared terribly well, going 0-1 with a 10.05 ERA in 32 appearances. Brzykcy has allowed 32 runs on 37 hits in 28.2 innings while posting a 28:15 K:BB ratio. He'll be expected to provide depth in the Marlins' bullpen as Miami is currently dealing with some injuries to both the starting rotation as well as the back end of the staff. If he pitches well, Brzykcy could have an opportunity to stick around for a while.
