Braxton Ashcraft allowed six runs on nine hits, did not issue a walk, and struck out five as the Pirates dropped a 6-3 decision to the Braves on Saturday.

Ashcraft tied a season-high with six earned runs allowed on Saturday, but it was just the third time in 13 starts this season that he surrendered more than three runs. Ashcraft did strike out five Braves on Saturday and has now recorded five punch outs in 12 consecutive outings. He is tied for third in the National League with 86 strikeouts on the year. Ashcraft will carry a 5-3 record with a 3.28 ERA into his next scheduled start on Friday against the Marlins.
