James Outman added to Tigers' active roster Friday

The Tigers claimed outman off waivers from the division-rival Twins on Thursday, and he will be available to make his Tigers debut on Friday. The Tigers have received little defensive production from their outfield this season, especially in center field with Parker Meadows and Javier Baez sidelined with injuries. After bursting on the scene with the Dodgers in 2022 and 2023, Outman has struggled badly at the plate in the big leagues, most recently hitting .156 without a homer alongside four steals in 70 trips to the plate for the Twins this season.
