Ben Brown allows one run Saturday to earn third win of season

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Sun, Jun 14th 9:54am EDT

Ben Brown allowed a run on seven hits, walked three, and struck out three over five innings during Saturday's 6-1 Cubs' win over the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

Brown made his seventh start of the season and has now allowed three runs or fewer in all seven outings. However, he allowed a season-high 10 baserunners on Saturday, but was able to limit the damage to just a run in picking up his third win of the season. Since joining the rotation, Brown is 2-1 with a 1.49 ERA and a 37:11 K:BB ratio in 36.1 innings. His only downfall is that he doesn't typically work deep into games as he has pitched more than five innings only three times. But, that's a minor issue considering the numbers he is putting up at the moment. Brown is slated to get the Blue Jays at home on Friday.
