Jose Cabrera tosses five shutout innings in MLB debut Sunday

by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Sun, Jun 21st 6:49pm EDT

Jose Cabrera allowed three hits over five scoreless innings on Sunday but had to settle for a no-decision in the Diamondbacks' 4-2 loss to the Twins.

Fantasy Impact:

Cabrera was called up in time to make his big league debut on Sunday and he gave the Diamondbacks five shutout innings and left with a 2-0 lead. However, the Arizona bullpen cost the rookie a shot at a victory as the Twins scored four runs over the final three innings. The righthander needed just 62 pitches to get through five frames, allowing a double and two singles while striking out three. Cabrera was 3-2 with a 3.69 ERA and a 64:16 K:BB ratio over 14 starts in the minors before his call-up. With the Diamondbacks' rotation in disarray at the moment, Cabrera will likely get another shot next week.
