Alan Rangel effective in bulk relief
by Nate Miller | Phillies Correspondent | Tue, Jun 23rd 8:39am EDT
Alan Rangel allowed one run on five hits and no walks while striking out four over five innings in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Nationals.
Fantasy Impact:
Rangel was recalled from Triple-A ahead of Monday's game. He entered in the second inning after reliever Tim Mayza opened the contest for the Phillies, and Rangel proceeded to deliver an impressive effort over the next five frames. The 28-year-old righty surrendered a solo homer to the second batter he faced, but he completely shut down the Nationals' bats after that. Rangel seems likely to stick around with the Phillies for a while after this outing.
