Twins right-hander Cole Sands began a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, pitching a scoreless inning. (MLB.com)

Sands faced the minimum three hitters while throwing a clean inning for St. Paul on Tuesday. The reliever has been sidelined since May 2 with a mild right forearm strain, but the team has been cautious in his recovery, as he was shut down following an inning's worth of action for St. Paul on June 2. The team remains hopeful he can return in July.
