Blue Jays closer Louis Varland allowed one hit and one walk with two strikeouts while earning the save in a 3-2 win over the Nationals on Monday.
Fantasy Impact:
Varland retired the first two hitters he faced on Monday before surrendering a single to Nasim Nunez and a walk to James Wood. However, he would strike out Luis Garcia to end the game and earn his 22nd save of the season in as many opportunities. Varland now sports a 1.02 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, and a 72:14 K:BB across 53 innings and 48 appearances on the season.
