Pete Fairbanks tossed a 1-2-3 ninth inning on Wednesday to record his 15th save of the season in an 8-6 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Fantasy Impact:
Fairbanks opened the ninth by striking out Justin Crawford before retiring Edmundo Sosa and Trea Turner on flyouts to complete a 1-2-3 inning. He's recorded saves in back-to-back games, making him a likely candidate for a day off in Thursday's series opener against the New York Mets. While the right-hander owns a 6.48 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in July, he's been much sharper of late, tossing three consecutive scoreless appearances.
