Nootbaar has been mentioned in trade rumors for quite some time, as he is eligible for arbitration for just one more season before hitting free agency following the 2027 season. The 28-year-old has endured a couple of down seasons at the plate, hitting .234 with three homers, one stolen base, and a .687 OPS across 48 games this season while dealing with inuries again. Nootbaar's season high in games played is 135 from the 2025 season, the only time he has surpassed 117 games played in a single season.
