Quinn Mathews allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings in Saturday's loss to the Phillies.
Fantasy Impact:
After the rough outing, Mathews now owns a 6.43 ERA and 1.79 WHIP with an 0-2 record across three starts. He gave up seven hard-hit balls and picked up 12 whiffs on 99 pitches. The third inning was a struggle, as he gave up four straight singles, the first three of which were hit less than 80 mph. He'll look for better results against the Pirates next week.
