Nick Tropeano strikes out 10 in loss
by Jamison Malasko | Sun, May 8th 8:32pm EDT
Angels pitcher Nick Tropeano struck out 10 batters, but gave up two home runs that accounted for all three earned runs in a 3-1 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday. Tropeano went 5 and 1/3 innings while giving up seven hits and two walks and his ERA rose to 3.69 for the year.
Fantasy Impact:
Tropeano is now 1-2 for the season, but holds an impressive 10.2 K/9 in 31.2 innings for the season. The problem with Tropeano is he has yet to make it past the sixth inning in any game this year. The Angels are in desperate need of starting pitching and need Tropeano to start working deeper into games. The third year player is slated to pitch on friday against hot hitting Seattle.
