Brett Lawrie is hitless on Wednesday

by Rob Schwarz, Jr. | Thu, Jul 21st 1:09pm EDT

The White Sox let a 5-2 lead slip away and lost 5-6 in extra innings on Wednesday. Their six through eight hitters did not record a single hit and that looked to be a contributing factor in their loss. Brett Lawrie hit seventh and was one of those guys. He finished 0-for-5 with two strikeouts.

Fantasy Impact:

Lawrie looked good before the break. Unfortunately he has looked awful since. He has had one good game over his last seven, and over that span is only hitting .115. Give him some time on your bench until he starts showing he can turn things back on. Remember that just before the break he was hitting over .260. He is still on pace for 60 runs and RBI. He can serve as a good bench option since he is both 2B and 3B eligible. Just do not wait on him too long if something better comes along.
