Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in an 8-2 Miami victory over Washington on Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Garcia tied the game with a solo homer in the second inning and tacked on an RBI single in the seventh for good measure. He's been stronger at the dish recently, going 7-for-19 with two home runs and five RBIs over his last five games. He'll attempt to keep rolling in a matchup against Washington on Tuesday.
Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Wednesday's 11-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Fantasy Impact
Garcia has been showing signs of life at the plate recently and his power finally reappeared Wednesday afternoon. The veteran outfielder is now 7-for-21 with a homer during his current five-game hitting streak.
Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Fantasy Impact
Garcia has provided nothing close to the type of production the Marlins hoped for when they inked him to a free-agent contract worth north of $50MM this past offseason. The veteran outfielder is hitting under .200 with a meager .475 OPS through 99 plate appearances. At least he has shown some signs of life the past few days, as he has scratched out four hits in his last 13 at-bats.
Avisail Garcia went 1-for-3 with a run scored on Friday against the Mariners.
Fantasy Impact
Garcia is really having trouble getting going thus far, and is batting just .190 with a home run and four RBI. He's walking just 1.5% of the time and striking out at a career-worst rate of 29.2%. Garcia is just 30 years old so there's no reason to think he's suddenly fallen off a cliff. But his upside isn't high enough that you should feel compelled to roster him if he doesn't turn it around soon.
Avisail Garcia went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base on Saturday against the Braves.
Fantasy Impact
Garcia isn't particularly fast, ranking in the 66th percentile in sprint speed, but he did swipe eight bags last season. Of bigger concern is the fact that he is slashing just .186/.205/.279 on the year with one home run and three RBI. Garcia has hit at least 18 home runs in each of his last four full seasons, so the power should come eventually. But his upside isn't high enough that you should feel compelled to hold him if he doesn't turn things around within a few weeks.
