Birdsong has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 right forearm strain and recently sought a second opinion from Dr. Keith Meister, weighing whether to undergo surgery or pursue rest and rehab. Extended time missed is expected either way, though a UCL and/or flexor tendon procedure would likely keep him out through at least the middle of the 2027 season.
