The Reds claimed Renfroe from the Angels after the was put on waivers at the end of August. He hadn't been getting regular playing time and hit .128/.227/.205 in 44 plate appearances with the Reds. Hunter Renfroe had a solid performance in Friday's game against the Cardinals, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and two RBI.
Despite his efforts, the Reds ultimately fell to the Cardinals by a score of 9-4. Renfroe's season-long numbers have been underwhelming, with a .242 batting average and 20 home runs, but his ability to drive in runs could make him a valuable asset in deeper fantasy leagues. However, his lack of stolen bases and high strikeout rate may limit his overall fantasy production.
The Reds have scratched Hunter Renfroe from their starting lineup Tuesday due to left hamstring tightness.
Renfroe will be replaced in right field by Will Benson, with Harrison Bader and TJ Friedl patrolling center and left field respectively. Fantasy managers should consider Renfroe day-to-day for now.
