Stephenson signed a three-year, $33 million deal with the Angels after the 2023 season and previously underwent UCL reconstruction in May 2024. He experienced thoracic outlet syndrome symptoms over the winter and was eased into spring workouts before right elbow inflammation emerged and landed him on the 60-day IL prior to Opening Day.
