Ryan Pressly was unable to shut the door on the Mariners Saturday, allowing two runs on two hits while also walking one and striking out two, blowing the save chance and picking up the loss in the Astros' 5-4 loss to the Mariners.
Pressly allowed runs for the first time in his last eight relief appearances for the Astros Saturday, posting a 2.00 ERA an 0.44 WHIP to go along with a 16K/1BB ratio in that span. The right-hander has been one of the more consistent closer options for fantasy managers this season, posting a 0.97 WHIP and 3.19 ERA with 36 strikeouts and 21 saves in 32 relief appearances this season.
Ryan Pressly earned his 21st save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Mariners. He tossed a scoreless inning, allowing a hit and striking out two.
Outside of a couple major blow ups, Pressly has been utterly dominant this year. He missed a few weeks due to injury yet still is among the league leaders in saves. There's no reason to believe that is going to change.
Ryan Pressly notched his 20th save of the year Sunday, stamping out the Seattle Mariners 8-5. He tossed a scoreless 9th during the appearance.
Pressly retired all three batters in order, needing just 12 pitches. The veteran closer missed the last few games as he was placed on the paternity list. As soon as he's eligible, he picks up yet another save.
Ryan Pressly has been activated from the paternity list and is active on Sunday.
Pressly missed a few games to be with his family for the birth of his second child and will return for the Astros game against the Mariners. He's been one of the top closers in the league this season collecting 19 saves with a 2.89 ERA and 0.93 WHIP with 32 strikeouts across 28 innings pitched. Fantasy managers should also activate him and get them back in their lineups immediately.
