Ryan Pressly suffered his second blown save of the year in Tuesday's loss to the Giants.
Pressly was trusted with a one-run lead in the ninth inning but failed to preserve it. He has now blown 2-of-3 save chances since taking over the closer role due to Roberto Osuna's injury. Pressly has a fantastic track record of success in recent years, but he hasn't looked like himself this season.
Ryan Pressly cleaned up Josh James' mess on Monday against the Giants, recording the final three outs to earn his first save of the year.
James was given an opportunity to finish out the game with Houston up 6-0. He quickly got in trouble in the ninth and gave way to Pressly, who allowed some inherited runners to score. Thank goodness for Pressly's fantasy owners that he wound up preserving the win. It hasn't been pretty so far but he remains Houston's best bet for ninth inning duties moving forward. Make sure he's rostered in your fantasy leagues.
Ryan Pressly blew a save and took the loss on Thursday against the Diamondbacks, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk while failing to record an out.
It was a disastrous first crack at the closer's role for Pressly. He entered in the ninth inning with a one-run lead but gave up a leadoff walked before surrendering three straight hits as Arizona walked off. The 31-year-old simply hasn't looked like himself this year. Andre Scrubb is worth stashing for any fantasy players in need of saves.
Ryan Pressly pitched through a cut on his cuticle in his 2020 season debut on Saturday night.
Pressly allowed two hits and a walk in his 2/3 of an inning, giving up one run and striking out one. The premier setup man dealt with some elbow issues prior to the season beginning and therefore had a delayed start to the year. Roberto Osuna is headed for an MRI on his arm, which could vault Pressly into closing duties if he's healthy. The back end of Houston's bullpen is messy right now.
Astros manager Dusty Baker says Ryan Pressly (elbow) remains unavailable for Wednesday's tilt with the Dodgers.
Pressly was in line for save chances while Roberto Osuna was ramping up his throwing program last week. However, Pressly has yet to make an appearance this season and an IL trip could be in order. He can be dropped in standard fantasy leagues as Osuna is the team's closer already.
