Chris Archer signs back with the Rays on a one-year deal
According to Jeff Passan, former Tampa Bay Rays' pitcher Chris Archer signs back with the Rays on a one-year $6.5 million deal pending a physical.
Chris Archer last pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2019 with a 5.19 ERA, 27.2% strikeout rate, 10.5% walk rate, and 1.41 WHIP in 119.2 innings pitched. He missed the entire 2020 season due to thoracic outlet syndrome, which required surgery. Archer expects to pitch in 2021, but we'll see how he fares back with his old team. At this point, use more of a wait and see approach unless you have injured list spots. Over the past month, Archer's NFBC ADP of 531 makes him an interesting late-round target, assuming he's healthy.
