by Joel E. Ruffin Jr. | Wizards Correspondent | Fri, Dec 1st 8:39pm EST

Marvin Bagley III totaled eight points (3-6 FG, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist, and one block in the Pistons’ 118-112 loss to the Knicks.

Fantasy Impact:

Bagley scored 8.0 points in the Pistons' loss to the Knicks, producing yet another performance that left much to be desired. The team has been experimenting with several players in the lineup, and even though they have provided opportunities to Bagley, he has been unsuccessful in consistently producing enough value and impact to secure the coaching staff's confidence for a full-time gig. Consistency and routine in his playing time could be vital to unlocking his long-term value; however, he isn't getting that, and it could create some levels of frustration, especially when knowing what kind of upside he could demonstrate if granted a solid chance. It feels as though this season will become one big "try-out" for the Pistons, considering their experimental approach to games and loose management of the rotations. This kind of environment could lead to some ample opportunities for Bagley and lead to a few months or a few games of worthwhile fantasy production. With the lack of consistency from the team, it could be challenging to leverage his rebounding upside in most season-long leagues. Still, he could be a viable last-piece option in daily formats, given his price point and upside while being deployed in a plus matchup. Bagley has a usage rate of 21.1 percent, a plus-minus of -0.7, and is averaging 18.7 minutes, 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.1 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 57.9 percent from the floor and 20.0 percent from beyond the arc.
