Kyrie Irving (knee) unlikely to play before All-Star break

Irving has not resumed practicing as he continues rehabilitating from a torn ACL in his left knee that was surgically repaired March 26. Mavericks coach Jason Kidd indicated Jan. 22 that Irving "probably" won't make his season debut until after the All-Star break, adding there is "no timeline" for his return. Kidd noted Irving is "in good spirits" and "feels great" during the recovery process. (Dwain Price)
Fantasy Impact:
Kidd emphasized that the Mavericks' 19-30 record won't influence Irving's return timeline, stating he'll be cleared to play only when both physically and mentally ready. If Irving does return late in the season, he would likely face significant minutes restrictions as he works back into game shape. His presence would also shift Cooper Flagg into more off-ball opportunities in the backcourt rotation.
