Bones Hyland explodes for 37 points Wednesday

Bones Hyland scored 37 points (15-29 FG, 6-12 3PT, 1-1 FT) to go along with four rebounds, nine assists and three steals in the Clippers 124-108 loss against the Suns.

Fantasy Impact

Hyland took full advantage of his opportunity with Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and James Harden all sidelined. He dropped his career-high in points on super efficient shooting. It is possible he plays a big role over the final two games of the regular season if starters continue to sit.

Bones Hyland (knee) listed questionable Wednesday

Bones Hyland (knee) is listed as questionable to play in Wednesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Fantasy Impact

Hyland has been out for a couple of games while managing a knee injury, and he may miss another game on Wednesday for the same reason. He has been getting phased out of Los Angeles rotation, however, so it's unlikely that his potential absence will have a major impact on the team's rotation.

Bones Hyland scores 17 points in win Tuesday

Bones Hyland finished with 17 points (6-14 FG, 4-7 3PT, 1-2 FT), three assists, and a steal in 32 minutes of Tuesday’s 118-102 victory over the Magic.

Fantasy Impact

Hyland has played exceptionally well for the Clippers to start the season, scoring 17 or more points in three of the four games. The team rewarded the 23-year-old point guard by giving him his first start since joining the franchise. Hyland didn’t disappoint, scoring 17 points and knocking down four threes. However, his lack of production outside of scoring, combined with the recent acquisition of James Harden, makes him a difficult player to advocate for taking up valuable real estate on fantasy rosters. He does carry some short-term value heading into Wednesday’s final game of the week against the Lakers, but then his value takes a significant hit. Bones potentially has the chance to still make some noise with the Clippers' second unit, but until we see how their rotation plays out with Harden in the lineup, he's not a must-roster player in season-long formats.
