Taj Gibson (PF,C)

Minnesota Timberwolves

Taj Gibson has been ruled out for Saturday's game versus the Suns due to personal reasons. Dario Saric will start in his place with Anthony Tolliver picking up minutes. (Source: Wolves PR on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson should be able to return for the next game but in this game Saric gets a massive boost in value and is an option in DFS. Saric has been a disappointment even before his time in Minnesota.

Taj Gibson achieved a double-double on Monday against the Rockets, with 15 points and 11 rebounds, plus three assists and one steal, over 27 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson can snag rebounds and is good for a steal in any given game, but his scoring is as often as not in the single digits, which suppresses his fantasy value. He's a low cost option in DFS, but acknowledge the risk if you put him in your lineup.

Taj Gibson ended the game with seven points and eight rebounds in the Timberwolves seven point victory over the Cavaliers.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is never going to be a fantasy monster and now with Dario Saric's acquisition that will hurt his upside even more. He will be a low floor streaming option moving forward.

Taj Gibson posted his second double-double on the season on Friday versus the Nets finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Gibson added three steals, one block, and one assist in 26 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is working ahead of Dario Saric so he's a better add over Saric at this point in the season. Saric is on the deeper league radar where Gibson should be owned in 10-team leagues.

Taj Gibson scored five points on 20 percent shooting from the field against the Grizzlies on Sunday. Gibson added four rebounds and one steal in 19 minutes of action.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson scored in single digits for the first time in his past four games and the five points he contributed on Sunday were a season-low. Dario Saric is clearly eating into Gibson's minutes since arriving from Philly, and you can expect that trend to continue. Gibson is in danger of becoming droppable in all leagues.

Taj Gibson played for 33 minutes on Monday against the Nets, scoring 17 points on 5-for-8 shooting, to which he added nine rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson was close to a double-double and has played well lately. He would be nice DFS value on Wednesday if Dario Saric doesn't play, but all signs currently point to the former Sixer making his debut for the Timberwolves. If that happens, expectations for Gibson need to be tempered.

Taj Gibson finished with 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting (3-of-5 from outside), and grabbed 11 rebounds, three assists, and three steals while playing for 37 minutes in Minnesota's 114-110 loss to LAL on Wednesday night.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson had a solid outing, making some big shots, as Minnesota came up just short against the Lakers. Although he will have games like this one, the Timberwolves have too many scorers for Gibson to be a consistent offensive threat.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored eight points on 43 percent shooting from the field during Minnesota's 124-120 win over the Lakers on Monday. Gibson added six rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 29 minutes of game action.

Fantasy Impact: Though he saw just about 20 minutes in the two contests preceding Monday night's game, Gibson is definitely still locked into the starting five in Minnesota and will continue to get at least 25 minutes per game going forward. Gibson has been quiet but he's been solid too, putting up 10.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 59 percent from the field during this campaign.

Taj Gibson who started for the Wolves against the Spurs, played a total of 27 minutes. Gibson scored six points shooting 3-for-4 from the floor. Gibson had 11 rebounds to contribute as well. Look for how Gibson responds in game two of the season as the Wolves play the Cavaliers tonight.

Fantasy Impact: Taj Gibson who got the starting nod for the Wolves had a nice night full of rebounds but quiet on every other aspect. Gibson will need to start scoring if he wants to continue being owned in fantasy leagues.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson finished with two points on 1-of-1 shooting while grabbing three rebounds in 20 minutes in Minnesota's Game 4 loss on Monday night.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson was again quiet, as Minnesota has tried to play smaller to better match up with Houston. Although Gibson could see an increase in shots since the Timberwolves current strategy hasn't worked very well, it isn't something worth banking on given Gibson's size and limitations from outside.

Taj Gibson will start and play on Sunday in Game 1 against the Houston Rockets. This neck injury has been a problem for Gibson for some time now so we expect him to play his usual role and not miss any games. (Source: Dane Moore on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson would be downgraded in DFS with the neck injury but is still a solid option as his defense is a plus for the Wolves in this tough matchup against the Rockets. Lock him into your DFS lineups.

Taj Gibson played 36 minutes in Wednesday's victory over the Nuggets. He shot 4-for-8 from the field. Gibson finished with eight points, six rebounds, two steals, one block and one turnover.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has a favorable matchup against the Rockets in round 1. He should be able to pick up a huge number of rebounds in this matchup and provide some decent scoring. Look for him to pick up some double-doubles in round 1.

Taj Gibson scored 18 points on 80 percent shooting from the field during the Wolves' loss to the Celtics on Thursday. Gibson added four rebounds and an assist in 36 minutes of floor time.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson continues to see 35 minutes per game while only managing 13.0 points per contest in March—despite shooting 69 percent from the field. Even in the aftermath of Jimmy Butler's injury, Gibson has remained the fifth option in the Wolves' offense, falling behind Butler replacement Nemanja Bjelica as well. This will always limit his fantasy prospects.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored nine points on 50 percent shooting during the Wolves' 108-99 loss to the Blazers on Thursday but was forced to leave the game early due to a hip contusion which is not considered serious. Gibson added four boards in 29 minutes of game action.

Fantasy Impact: The hip bruise is nothing to worry about, though his scoring inconsistency is another matter. After scoring in double-digits in 10 of the final 11 games of January, Gibson has now scored just nine points in four of his last 11 games. The former Trojan has only grabbed 10+ boards once over that span as well. You can expect Gibson to see a slight increase in looks after the Butler injury, but he only goes from a fifth to a fourth option in that offence.

Taj Gibson registered his 15th double-double of the season on Saturday with 19 points and 10 rebounds during a 122-104 victory over the Bulls. Gibson made an efficient 7-of-11 shots from the field and 5-of-7 from the line while adding three assists and a steal in 36 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson continues to post solid fantasy numbers for his owners averaging 13.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in nine February games. Jimmy Butler's absence shouldn't have too big of an impact on Gibson other than maybe an extra rebound or two a night. He is a set-it and forget-it player you know what you are getting every night.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 34 minutes during the Timberwolves 126-113 loss to the Warriors on Thursday. Gibson made 6-of-13 shots from the field and chipped in with an assist, steal and block.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has put together a solid season for the Timberwolves averaging 12.1 points and a career-high 7.6 rebounds per game. His double-double on Thursday was his 14th of the year in 51 games. Gibson's consistent scoring and rebounding night-in and night-out make him a solid option in both season-long leagues and DFS lineups.

Taj Gibson scored 18 points with seven rebounds and three steals in the loss to the Magic Tuesday night.

Fantasy Impact: Averaging 12.1 PPG and 7.7 RPG, Gibson has been a solid contributor for fantasy owners this season. He does not offer much outside of those two stats, but he does them well enough to deserve a roster spot.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson grabbed 13 rebounds to go along with 16 points in the win against Cleveland on Monday.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is a good source of rebounds and points. He may not do much of anything but if you are in need of rebounds, go make sure he is owned and if not, add him.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 14 points in 33 minutes against the Lakers on Monday. He also grabbed five rebounds and had an assist.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has been a serviceable fantasy player, averaging 12.0 PPG and 8.0 RPG. He will not light the world on fire, but owners have to be happy with his contributions in points and rebounds.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson finished with 23 points on 11-of-13 shooting and put up nine rebounds, and a steal in 34 minutes versus the Lakers.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson was solid in this game and has been reliable all season long, but even more so in his last 12 games averaging 13 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Gibson may not be worth starting most nights depending on the makeup of your roster, but with how many minutes he plays, he is a very reliable player to have on your bench.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson finished with six points on 2-of-4 shooting and put up nine rebounds in 34 minutes versus Dallas on Sunday night.

Fantasy Impact: With the Timberwolves having a plethora of scorers, Gibson will sometimes have to relegate his scoring duties to other teammates, but with Gibson averaging 33 minutes per game, he is still a viable fantasy option for the time being.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson had yet another double-double on Wednesday, scoring 16 points with 14 rebounds. He also had two assists and three blocks in the win.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has been a valuable asset for the Wolves this year, chipping in on both ends of the floor. He is a draft day steal for owners, averaging 11.4 points per game with 8.3 rebounds.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson was very productive against Memphis on Monday. He scored 14 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners. Despite not being the first couple of options on offense for Minnesota, Gibson is finding a way to contribute across the board. He belongs on a roster and is a startable asset.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 20 points on 67 percent shooting from the field during Minnesota's win on Sunday. Gibson was also a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe while snagging 11 boards in 40 minutes of action.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has been playing off the charts lately, posting his fourth double-double in his last five chances on Sunday. Gibson has definitely found his niche in that crowded Minnesota starting lineup and is a solid play night in and night out in most DFS formats considering how low salary still is.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson finished the game with 24 points, nine rebounds, two steals, two assists, and a block in 40 minutes versus Miami.

Fantasy Impact: Timberwolves' head coach Tom Thibodeau relies heavily on his starters, and Gibson has certainly benefitted from it. As long as Gibson continues to get as many minutes as he has, he should be on every fantasy owner's radar and is worth picking up, if available.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson had 10 points and 11 rebounds in Friday night's win versus Dallas.

Fantasy Impact: Over the last 10 games, Gibson is averaging nearly 12 points and nine rebounds per game and continues to be a viable option for any fantasy owner looking for a consistent big man.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson had 15 points and 10 rebounds on Monday in the win against Utah.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson now has a double-double in back-to-back games and five on the year. He is a good source of points and rebounds.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson had a solid game against the Warriors with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is averaging 29.2 minutes per game and chips in a few different categories averaging 9.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals. He is a good bench guy to have around on your roster.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his second double-double of the season in the Timberwolves' 104-98 victory over the Pelicans on Wednesday. In 34 minutes, Gibson made 5-of-8 shots from the field including his only three-point attempt.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson saw an increase in production partially due to Karl-Anthony Towns getting in foul trouble which forced Gibson to be more present on the boards and on the offensive end. He is averaging just 8.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game on the season and is best left on the waiver wire in most leagues.

Taj Gibson is another player set to join the Minnesota Timberwolves after agreeing on a two-year deal worth $28 million. It's also another former Chicago Bulls player to join his former coach in Tom Thibodeau. (Source: Chris Haynes on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson will slide in as a role player behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng. However, depending on the opponents and starting five, Gibson could start in some games with Dieng the first big off the bench. Gibson could have some late-round value.

Category: , Transactions

Taj Gibson accumulated 13 points (4-for-11 FG, 5-for-6 FT), seven rebounds, and a pair of blocks in 22 minutes in Wednesday's tilt with Denver.

Fantasy Impact: While 22 minutes may not sound like much from a starter, that's right on the bubble of what Gibson has been allotted since being traded to Oklahoma City. While he wasn't spectacular in the season finale, the former Bull was certainly an asset to have in the final game of the championship round.

Taj Gibson will not play on Tuesday either as the team will rest a few stars in the second to last game of the season. Domantas Sabonis will likely start in his place with Jerami Grant and Enes Kanter picking up a few minutes. (Source: Jerry Zgoda on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Sabonis is an intriguing DFS play on Tuesday as the team is going to look for added offense. Enes Kanter is a strong DFS play if he indeed plays in this game.

Taj Gibson struggles in Denver

Mon, Apr 10th 7:16pm EDT
By Derek Womack

Taj Gibson was only able to tally eight points (3-for-9 FG, 2-for-2 FT), and three rebounds on the Thunder's way to eliminating Denver from playoff contention.

Fantasy Impact: In an impressive comeback win for the Thunder, Gibson was nowhere to be found in the box score. The former-Bulls' ownership has been steadily decreasing as of late, as Gibson has failed to resemble anything close to reliability in the fantasy postseason.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson totaled eight points (4-for-10), seven rebounds, and a steal in Wednesday's 103-100 win over Memphis.

Fantasy Impact: While Gibson is seeing a full allotment of minutes since coming back from an illness, he has been somewhat underwhelming for fantasy since joining the Thunder. The viable games have been there in spurts, but they've been completely unpredictable. One thing that fantasy owners can count on moving forward is Gibson being on the floor as the Thunder fight for seeding, but expectations should remain low and consider any big games an added bonus.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson recorded four points (2-for-3), four rebounds, one rebound, one assist, and two blocks in Sunday's loss to the Hornets.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson saw a significant decrease in minutes in his first game back from missing the previous contest due to an illness. Regardless of whether the minutes-cut was due to the illness or game flow, it was not the kind of night that Gibson owners look for in their championship rounds.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson will start on Sunday against the Hornets after missing the last game with an illness. Domatas Sabonis will move back to the bench. (Source: Royce Young on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson can be fired back into your lineups in a favorable matchup against the Hornets. Sabonis' daily potential is gone with Gibson back.

Category: , Injury Updates

Taj Gibson scored two points (1-for-5), grabbed four rebounds, and a pair of steals in Wednesday's 114-106 overtime win over Orlando.

Fantasy Impact: On a night where Russell Westbrook scored half of the team's points, there wasn't much left over for Gibson and the rest of the team. While the recently acquired big-man was able to make his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball, that effort doesn't equate to fantasy points outside a handful of steals and blocks. Look for Gibson to find his rhythm sooner rather than later as the Thunder inch closer to the postseason.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson played 17 minutes in Sunday's 137-125 loss to the Rockets and scored 12 points on 6-for-7 shooting in that time. Gibson also contributed four rebounds, one assist and a steal in the contest.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson hasn't quite settled in with the Thunder yet but he did have a very positive performance on Sunday as he missed just one of his seven shots in the game. He has been getting less minutes lately but hopefully this performance and Steven Adams' subpar play of late can help him earn a larger role in the rotation.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson (hip) scored 17 points on 8-for-17 shooting with eight rebounds, one block and one steal in 24 minutes in Tuesday's 122-104 win over the Nets.

Fantasy Impact: He injured his hip back on Saturday and sat out of Sunday's practice as a precaution. Unfortunately, his value has tanked since his move to OKC. He was averaging 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in his previous nine games, so he's safe to leave on the wire in most formats.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson will start and play on Tuesday against the Nets despite the hip injury he suffered in a game on Saturday. Gibson will start with Donatas Sabonis moving to the bench. (Source: Steve McGehee on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson hasn't provided much in terms of fantasy output since his arrival in OKC but he gets the all around best matchup against the Nets and the starting nod. He's a cheap daily play.

Category: , Injury Updates

Taj Gibson scored 15 points with six rebounds in 22 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact: He did suffer a left hip injury in the second half and went to the locker room for a couple minutes. Gibson returned quickly to the bench and was called available to return, but OKC didn't need him. Most owners will want to see him be productive again before adding him. OKC only has three games this week.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson grabbed a team-high eight rebounds including five offensive boards in a loss to the Blazers. Gibson also played the most minutes of any Thunder's bench player with 23 minutes but only scored three points. He added one assist.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson's move to Oklahoma City hasn't helped his fantasy value as Steven Adams and Donatas Sabonis start while Enes Kanter is the also ahead of Gibson. He can be dropped and go pick up Alan Williams.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson has been traded to the Thunder on Thursday in exchange for Cameron Payne, Anthony Morrow and Joffrey Lauvernge. Gibson and Doug McDermott will head to the Thunder and Gibson will slide into the four spot. It looks like Andre Roberson will be staying in OKC. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson and McDermott are great additions to the Thunder and both will likely slide in and start. Gibson is more likely to start with Roberson still in OKC. Lauvergne and Payne don't improve their fantasy outlook with this trade.

The Thunder are interested in acquiring Taj Gibson in a trade with the Bulls. Gibson has an expiring contract and the Bulls will likely look to unleash Bobby Portis if Gibson and/or Nikola Mirotic are traded. Both Gibson and Mirotic could be traded leaving plenty of minutes for Portis. (Source: Marc Stein on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: If Gibson and Mirotic are traded, Bobby Portis is worth an add in 12-team leagues. With the Bulls in the playoff hunt, it seems likely only one of them will be traded. The deadline wraps up on Thursday at 3:00 PM EST.

Category: , Rumors

The Bulls won on a technicality in most people's eyes, but the game was at least exciting. Gibson played decent and finished one rebound short of a double-double. He had 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a turnover.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is worth owning in many fantasy formats. He is a great rebound guy for category leagues and can put together double-doubles from time-to-time. He is a safe, cash game option in DFS, but lacks the upside for tournaments.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored two points with five rebounds, and one assist in the Bulls 117-89 loss against the Timberwolves.

Fantasy Impact: Taj looked terrible like the rest of the Bulls in this lopsided loss. Gibson looks to rebound in the upcoming game against Toronto.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 15 points with nine rebounds, and one steal in the Bulls 123-92 loss to the Warriors.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 13 points with four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the Bulls 112-107 win over the Kings.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored eight points with eight rebounds and one block in the Bulls 128- 100 win over the Thunder.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson looked like he was fully recovered from his injury in Wednesday's win. Always a sneaky double-double play, Taj is one of the safest salary relief plays in DFS.

Taj Gibson will play on Wednesday against the Thunder after missing the previous game with an ankle injury. Bobby Portis will move back to the bench. (Source: Vincent Goodwill on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson can be fired up in season-long leagues but should tread carefully in daily paly. It's a downgrade for Portis the most but also slightly affects Robin Lopez, Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic.

Taj Gibson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Philadelphia. He should be considered day-to-day with Paul Zipser, Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott seeing more run. (Source: Mike McGraw on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: With Gibson out, Robin Lopez benefits the most on the glass. Look for the Bulls to try to get back on track against the Sixers. Mirotic is the preferred daily play if your feeling lucky.

Category: , Injury Updates

Taj Gibson scored six points with 10 rebounds, one assist, and one block in the Bulls 119-114 loss to the Hawks.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson was 3-for-10 from the field, so he is getting his looks. Taj is always a threat for a double-double, so always keep him in mind when constructing your roster.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored just seven points on 2-for-6 shooting from the field and 3-for-6 shooting from the free throw line. Gibson also contributed six rebounds, one steal, one assist and one block in 29 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Since his one-game absence last week Gibson has not looked himself as he's shooting just 40 percent from the field while averaging 6.7 points and 4.0 rebounds over this three-game stretch. This could have something to do with a possible impending trade involving Gibson.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson will play and start on Friday against the Hawks. Gibson's returns after missing only one game. His return moves Paul Zipser back to the bench. (Source: ESPN.com)

Fantasy Impact: His return takes a fantasy hit to Zipser and a slight hit to Nikola Mirotic, Robin Lopez and Doug McDermott. Gibson can be plugged back into lineups in a favorable matchup.

Category: , Injury Updates

This comes a bit of a surprise as Gibson didn't miss anytime in his previous game and is dealing with a sore ankle. Paul Zipser will start in his place with Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott seeing more run. (Source: KC Johnson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: With Gibson out, it's a boost for Robin Lopez and Jimmy Butler on the boards. Mirotic is active and can be fired up as a solid daily play. McDermott scored 31 points Sunday so he's daily worthy as well.

Category: , Injury Updates

Taj Gibson scored 18 points while shooting 50 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line in the Bulls' 108-104 win on Sunday night. Gibson added eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson continued his recent tear as he's now been averaging 13.8 points and 11.3 rebounds over the past four games. Gibson is a strong rebounder and can score well at times but his lack of steals and blocks isn't ideal.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 10 points with 12 rebounds, one assist, and one block in the Bulls 101-99 loss to the Wizards.

Fantasy Impact: Taj was one of the few bright spots with Wade and Butler out. Gibson is always a threat to get a double-doulbe, so keep him in mind when setting lineups.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson has been limited to 20 minutes in each of the previous two games. Gibson finished with nine points and seven rebounds in this contest to go along with two steals and one block.

Fantasy Impact: This game was out of reach for the Bulls especially when Jimmy Butler left early. Gibson lost minutes to Bobby Portis is this game during garbage time. However, the previous game against the Raptors left Gibson out in small ball lineups. He's tough to trust at this point.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 18 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal in the Bulls 106-94 win over the Cavaliers.

Fantasy Impact: Taj had a good shooting night (9-10 from the field) along with getting peripheral stats. Gibson is usually flirting with a double-double on a nightly basis, so he should always be considered in roster construction.

Taj Gibson scored six points with seven rebounds, and two blocks in the Bulls 118-111 win over the Hornets.

Fantasy Impact: Taj took a back seat to the Jimmy Buckets show and posted marginal stats. Gibson is a player to keep in mind with roster construction as he is always a candidate for a double-double.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored eight points with three rebounds, two steals, and two block in the Bulls 101-99 win over the Nets.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson underwhelmed with only three rebounds as he needs to "double-double" to reach expected value. Gibson will look to bounce back in the next game.

The Bulls topped the Pacers 90-85 on Monday. They are one game back of .500 and currently the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Taj Gibson did not play his best basketball. He finished with 10 points in 22 minutes. He only had two rebounds and added a steal.

Fantasy Impact: Taj has been decent this year based on where he was drafted in most leagues. He is a solid cash game option in DFS because he typically hits the value needed based on his salary. This was an off night for him, but he is worth a look depending on fantasy roster construction.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 17 points with 11 rebounds, three blocks and two assists in the Bulls 107-97 loss to the Wizards.

Taj Gibson scored 12 points with 11 rebounds, and two blocks in the Bulls 113-88 win over the Trailblazers.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson's two blocks are a nice bonus to go along with the double-double. He is going to hover around a 10/10 line most nights so he represents a nice fill in for season long leagues and salary relief in DFS.

The Bulls lost a tough battle to the Hawks on Wednesday. All five of the Bulls starters saw over 30 minutes, and Taj Gibson played his most minutes thus far this season with 37. He ended up scoring 13 points while grabbing six boards. He also had two steals, two blocks and an assist.

Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners would have expected slightly better numbers out of Gibson based on his fantasy points per minute production. That said, he still had a decent night. He had decent peripherals for category leagues and had 36.5 standard scoring points on ESPN. Gibson is a great asset in cash games in DFS too, but not as valuable in GPP tournaments.

Taj Gibson scored eight points with eight rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and three assists in the Bulls 100-107 loss to the Celtics.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson put up stats in multiple categories despite the fact he went 3-for-12 from the field. Just chalk it up to a bad night overall for the entire team and keep rolling with Gibson in your line ups.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 14 points with 11 rebounds, one steal, and one block in the Bulls 118-88 win over the Nets.

Fantasy Impact: Taj is starting to have the feel of a double-double machine. Jump on before your league mates and the DFS sites catch on.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 12 points with eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in the Bulls 118-101 win over the Pacers.

Fantasy Impact: Another solid night for Gibson. If you need steady rebounds with double-digit scoring on the cheap(in DFS), he is your guy.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 18 points with 10 boards, and one assist in the Bulls season opening win the 105-99 win over the Boston Celtics.

Fantasy Impact: It appears that Taj Gibson will be a factor this year with Noah out of the way. He will be a great second tier power forward for the foreseeable future in season long and DFS.

Category: , Game Recaps

The Bulls have shown signs of life and it will be interesting to see where this team goes later in the year. Taj Gibson had a good night in Monday's loss. He played 17 minutes and finished with 12 points. He was 5-for-9 from the floor and grabbed six boards. He also had an assist, two steals and a turnover.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is definitely a later round target that could return some big value at times. He averaged eight points, almost seven rebounds and a block in 2015. With Noah gone and Bobby Portis and Cristiano Felicio looking to play time at center, Gibson could see a few more minutes per game.

Gibson has a fractured rib and will not play tonight when the Bulls face the Rockets. (Source: K.C. Johnson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Bobby Portis will get the start tonight with Gibson out and becomes a good DFS play. Gibson should be considered doubtful for the Bulls next game and possibly the rest of the season.

Category: , Injury Updates

Taj Gibson had a great offensive night on Monday. Gibson put up 18 points on 7-13 shooting. He added three rebounds, two assists and a block.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has some value in deeper leagues. If he is still available he is worth a look during the playoff weeks. Gibson adds value to the rebounding category and can score double-digits on any given night. Where Gibson really holds fantasy value is as a mid-level guy on DFS.

Taj Gibson was forced to leave Wednesday's game early after aggravating his hamstring injury. His status for Thursday's game against the Nets isn't clear. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson entered the game on the injury list due to tightness in his hamstring. Hopefully, this won't cause an extended absence. Gibson was seeing increased minutes and usage in Pau Gasol's absence. He made the most of it in his previous start, registering another double-double. He sees a solid matchup Thursday if he's able to play.

Category: , Injury Updates

On a night where the Bulls found themselves without three of their starters, they still found a way to beat the Raptors 109-107. Taj Gibson started and played 34 minutes. He finished with a double-double by scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Gibson also finished with three assists, a steal and a blocked shot.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson should have great value for at least a couple of games. He should see an increased role if Pau Gasol (knee) misses any more time. He is not going to score like Gasol does, but he is better defensively and can add to his stats in other ways. He is averaging close to 30 minutes since Joakim Noah went out with injury and is scoring an average of 10 points per game during that time. Gibson could help during a playoff push if Gasol misses time and he brings great value to the DFS format.

Taj Gibson and the Bulls tried to hang with the Spurs on Thursday, but ended up taking a loss. The Spurs are undefeated at home this season and the Bulls could not end that streak. Taj Gibson got the start, but only saw 22 minutes. During that time on the court he scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds. He also added an assist and a steal, but turned the ball over twice on a night where the team collectively finished with 21 turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Taj Gibson has been dealing with a hamstring injury lately. He has upside and is worth a look in daily. He is worth a roster spot if you struggle with rebounding, but I am not comfortable deploying him in yearly anymore, unless it is a deeper league. Expect him to see roughly 24 to 27 minutes per game now that Nikola Mirotic has returned from injury.

In a physical battle in the paint, Taj Gibson ended up hurting his right hamstring in the third quarter against the Heat on Tuesday. Gibson finished with 13 points and three rebounds. His status for Wednesday's game is still in the air.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson had been battling some other nagging injuries already and might not play Wednesday against Orlando. If you need a big, look to Bobby Portis who has played well off the bench. Portis will make for a great value option in DFS if Gibson is out.

Taj Gibson 'full go'

Wed, Feb 17th 8:35am EST
By Blaine Blontz

Taj Gibson will be "full go" when the second half of the regular season starts this week. Gibson was hampered by a foot strain that he suffered just before the All-Star break. (Source: K.C. Johnson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has seen his name appear in rumors with the deadline approaching, so his value is TBD over the next day. If he remains in Chicago, he will continue to see heavy minutes with the extended absence of Nikola Mirotic. If he's traded, Bobby Portis would figure to see a boost in minutes.

Category: , Injury Updates

Chicago played sloppy and was embarrassed on Wednesday. They lost 90-113 to Atlanta. Taj Gibson did not help any. The power forward left the game in the second half with a left foot sprain and did not return. Gibson finished with four points, three rebounds and an assist.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson continues to have value with Joakim Noah out. At this point the injury does not seem serious and it is unlikely to keep him out after the All-Star break. Gibson should still be owned in most leagues and is a viable option most nights in DFS.

The Bulls have now lost three games in a row and six of their last eight. They only had 11 players dress on Monday and injuries have started to pile up. Taj Gibson has stepped up in most games, but did little against Charlotte. He finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is a great fantasy option in deeper leagues. He regularly sees 28 or more minutes a night. He can help with rebounding and double-double categories. He is also a good value option in DFS. Gibson is worth holding onto as long as he continues to see starter's minutes.

Taj Gibson scored five points with seven rebounds and one assist in the Bulls 89-84 loss at the Heat

Fantasy Impact: Taj has not been a major factor in the Bulls offense. It is safe at this point to move on to greener fantasy pastures.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored four points with seven rebounds, one assist, and one block in the Bulls 125-94 loss to the Warriors.

Fantasy Impact: He also ceded minutes to Bobby Portis....it looks like it might be changing of the power forward guard in Chicago. Use Gibson as a punt play only.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored nine points with 11 rebounds, and one assist in the Bulls 83-77 loss to the Mavericks.

Fantasy Impact: Look for Taj Gibson to get a bump in value with Joakim Noah getting injured. He's a great pick up regardless of the fantasy format.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson plays 18 minutes in the Bulls 114-100 loss to the Wizards.

Fantasy Impact: With Noah back in the fold, you can kick Taj back to the scrap heap after his uninspired effort in the loss...it was nice while it lasted.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored seven points with nine rebounds, two blocks, and one steal in the 108-81 win over the Knicks.

Fantasy Impact: Taj posted a decent line. But as Bobby Portis gets more acclimated to the offensive, the lower Gibsons fantasy ceiling.... time to look elsewhere.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored six points with 14 rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block in the 102-100 overtime win.

Fantasy Impact: Taj has become a rebounding machine in Joakim Noah's absence. He's a good plug and play if you need rebounds.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored four points with 11 rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and one assist in Bulls 104-97 win over the Raptors.

Fantasy Impact: Taj has picked up the rebounding slack with Joakim Noah out with a shoulder injury. As long as Gibson gets minutes , he's a value play in most DFS formats.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 12 points with eight rebounds, and one assist.

Fantasy Impact: Taj isn't exactly taking his starting gig by storm. He's averaging about a double-double per game while Joakim Noah is nursing a shoulder strain. Temper greater expectations and accept him for what he is....just a guy.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 13 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 105-96 win over the Thunder.

Fantasy Impact: Taj will continue to be fantasy relevant as long as Joakim Noah is injured. He's a good pick up in season long leagues and a value play in DFS.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 10 points with nine rebounds, four assists, and one block in the 105-102 loss to the Nets.

Fantasy Impact: Taj is starting to get an uptick in minutes and has performed solidly. Keep Gibson on your radar for season long and as a good contrairian play in DFS.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson scored 14 points with 12 rebounds and two blocks in a 147-143 four overtime loss to the Pistons.

Fantasy Impact: It's a nice stat line for Taj, but temper expectations considering it was a four overtime game. Gibson has the talent to be a force in the league but just is not consistent enough to trust in season long lineups. He has low value in DFS games.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson sees an increased role on Thursday and proves he can play efficiently. He finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. He was 4-9 from the floor and added two assists.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is averaging close to seven minutes less per game this year than his previous two seasons. He played well with his uptick in minutes, but the extra minutes will probably not last. Gibson is only fantasy relevant in deeper leagues or as a low-cost option in DFS.

Category: , Game Recaps

Taj Gibson played 19 minutes off the bench. He did not add much to the stat line. He finished with four points, four rebounds and an assist.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has not been fantasy relevant this year. He is scoring almost three points less and grabbing one less rebound than his career average. Gibson will not be fantasy relevant on this Bulls team. He would need to be traded to a team where he sees more minutes to be a fantasy option.

Chicago Bulls PF Taj Gibson had his most efficient game of the season thus far with eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks in Friday night's loss to Detroit.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson led all Bulls bench players in minutes (20) as he shot 4-of-7 from the field. With Joakim Noah, the frontcourt off the bench has a chance to be very good for the Bulls under Fred Hoiberg. Gibson is an important piece.

Category: , Game Recaps

Chicago Bulls PF Taj Gibson fouled out late in the fourth quarter, but not before he made a big contribution with five points and 10 rebounds in 22 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson looks healthy again after off-season ankle surgery. He's one of the top bench players in the league due to his high-energy and shut down defense. Next to Joakim Noah off the bench, the duo could be the best frontcourt pieces that aren't starting in the NBA this year. Gibson also had three blocks as he shot 1-of-3 from the field and 3-of-4 from the FT stride.

Category: , Game Recaps

In Friday's preseason finale 103-102 win over the Dallas Mavericks, Chicago Bulls PF Taj Gibson led the way with 16 points off the bench.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson played in only five preseason games overall after making his debut on Oct. 14. He looks fully recovered from off-season ankle surgery and that's a great thing for the Bulls' top bench piece. Gibson also had six rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes.

Category: , Game Recaps

Chicago Bulls PF Taj Gibson added 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench on Monday in just his second preseason game since returning on Oct. 14 from off-season ankle surgery.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson shot an effective 6-of-7 from the field in 17 minutes as he made both of his FT attempts and also had an assist. It's a huge sign that he'll be able to resume his key role off the bench. Gibson is an important piece on both sides of the ball for the Bulls.

Chicago Bulls F Taj Gibson underwent ankle surgery back on June 19, so the team is playing things smart with their top bench piece. He sat out Tuesday's preseason opener against the Bucks.

Fantasy Impact: It remains to be seen if Gibson will play this preseason, but for now he's doing as little as possible as eases back into things. During two-a-days sessions, Gibson has been skipping the second part each time. "Hopefully, by the third or fourth preseason game," coach Fred Hoiberg said Monday via the Daily Herald. "He's looking better all the time. His big thing is getting his conditioning back and showing his explosiveness. He's excited, but he's in poor condition right now."

Bulls PF Taj Gibson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle previously on Tuesday, according to the team. The six-year pro averaged 10.3 PPG and 6.4 RPG in 62 games in 27.3 MPG, 17 starts in 2014. He sprained his ankle three times this season forcing him to miss 17 games. (Source: Bulls.com)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has career averages of 9.2 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 24.7 MPG and has shot 48 percent from the field in 434 total games. Over the last two seasons, he's averaged a career-high 11.3 PPG in 28 MPG. Gibson is owed $17.45 million over the next two seasons as his contract runs through 2017. He is set to make $8.5 million in 2015-16. His health is important as he's a clutch player on both sides of the ball off the bench.

Category: , Injury Updates

Gibson had two points, two rebounds, a steal and a block in Thursday's Game 6 loss.

Fantasy Impact: He played only 15 minutes in large part due to the fact that he picked up three fouls in his first three minutes in the first quarter. Gibson averaged 7.9 PPG in the playoffs, but in the regular season he averaged 10.3 PPG which was his second-best mark. The 29-year-old is signed through 2017.

Gibson got ejected from the game at the 10:25 mark of the fourth quarter for what appeared to be a slight kick of Cavs guard Matthew Dellavedova who was tangled up with Gibson. "I was surprised," Gibson said after the game. "I really just tried to release my foot from him."

Fantasy Impact: Gibson was hostile after the initial call and the pushing and bickering from Cavs players like J.R. Smith didn't help anything and Gibson was tossed soon thereafter. On the night, he had 10 points, five rebounds and a block on 4-12 shooting. The referees made a bad call on a crucial play. Gibson is a key player with Pau Gasol (left hamstring) out.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson scored six points, eight rebounds, two assists and a block in Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Cavs. He left with an apparent knee injury late in the fourth quarter and could be iffy for Game 5 on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact: He shot just 2-7 from the field 34 minutes on the floor. With Pau Gasol (hamstring) out, Gibson and rookie Nikola Mirotic combined for nine points on 3-16 shooting in a total of 52 minutes. If Gasol can't play in Game 5, the Bulls could be in trouble with Gibson and Mirotic soaking up his minutes. Gibson should be considered questionable at best as of now.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson added 11 points, two rebounds and a block in a Game 2 loss in Cleveland.

Fantasy Impact: He shot a perfect 5-5 from the field in 21 minutes and gave everything he had on both ends of the ball. Gibson is a key to this series. He needs to earn more minutes in Game 3 on Friday.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson played only 11 minutes, blocking three shots and grabbing one rebound with no shot attempts in Monday night's Game 2 win over the Bucks.

Fantasy Impact: He picked up his third foul in the early stages of the second quarter and his fourth foul came soon thereafter. Nikola Mirotic saw 22 minutes as he played PF rather than SF where he played in Game 1. Look for Gibson to bounce back on Thursday.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson scored eight points and added 11 rebounds, an assist and a steal in Saturday's Game 1 win over the Bucks.

Fantasy Impact: He was one of three players to record 10 or more rebounds for the Bulls (Gasol 13, Noah 11). He was impressive off the bench in 25 minutes even though he only connected on 2-5 shots from the field. Gibson is trusted over the rookie Nikola Mirotic, who scored five points in only 13 minutes.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson added his eighth double-double of the season with 14 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and a block in Thursday night's win over Miami.

Fantasy Impact: He shot 6-12 from the field in 34 minutes off the bench and its becoming more clear that Gibson is a big part of the offense and defense as a natural PF. He's averaging 10.5 PPG so far this month.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson added 15 points, seven rebounds, an assist and a block in Wednesday's loss to Orlando.

Fantasy Impact: He outshined rookie sensation Nikola Mirotic for most of the night as he played 29 minutes compared to Mirotic's 27. Both players added 15 points, but Gibson shot 6-12 from the field while Mirotic shot just 3-11. Gibson is more of a natural PF while Mirotic is still a liability as a defender at times.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson scored 10 points and added nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks in Friday night's win.

Fantasy Impact: He saw more minutes than Pau Gasol (34), Joakim Noah (29), and rookie sensation Nikola Mirotic (20). He only shot 4-13 from the field, but with Mirotic struggling and Noah still iffy at times with his knee issues it appears Gibson has a chance to carve out a bigger role heading into the playoffs.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson scored 12 points along with four rebounds and an assist in Wednesday's loss to the Bucks.

Fantasy Impact: Off the bench, Gibson is averaging 10.3 PPG this season and 7.8 over his last 10 games. He is a solid option off the Bulls bench and when he is shooting well like he did tonight (5-6) he is a nice fantasy plug-and-play.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson went 1-5 with four points in 32 minutes Monday night. He was still able to grab seven rebounds, three steals, and a block

Fantasy Impact: While not a great performance, what you should notice is the minutes. Larger or deeper leagues should be ready to pull a spot start with Taj whenever Joakim Noah sits. Noah was only out on rest, so Taj should move back to his off the bench role come next game.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson had a very effective night off the bench, scoring 13 points in 19 minutes. He shot 6-8 from the field and also had three rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: It was his highest point total since Feb. 20 against Detroit as well. Gibson is finally healed from his ankle injury and appears to be trending in the right direction. He is well worth owning down the stretch.

Category: , Game Recaps

Gibson tweaked his left ankle on Friday night and played just nine minutes before leaving the game. He was seen with a limp after the game and he didn't practice Saturday due to soreness. (Source: K.C. Johnson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Head coach Tom Thibodeau said Pau Gasol got up shots on Saturday and he "will be fine" for Sunday's game with L.A. Gasol missed Friday with an illness, so having him back would help as Gibson is expected to be out.

Category: , Injury Updates

Gibson left the game Friday in the first quarter after rolling his left ankle. He was able to limp off the court on his own, but did not return. Gibson is expected to be day-to-day

Fantasy Impact: With Gibson out, Nikola Mirotic should see an increase in minutes against bigger lineups, and Tony Snell, who has been getting big minutes, should also increase in the rotation. Mirotic was able to put up good numbers at the beginning of the season when he was given a good run of play. Mirotic is worth watching in standard leagues to see how the Bulls play him, and a pickup in deeper leagues.

Category: , Injury Updates

Bulls' PF Taj Gibson missed Monday night's home matchup with the Bucks. PG Kirk Hinrich was also out with an illness.

Fantasy Impact: Nikola Mirotic and Tony Snell will fill the minutes with Gibson and Hinrich inactive.

Taj Gibson scores 15 in loss

Fri, Feb 20th 10:30pm EST
By Jake Perper

Gibson paced Jimmy Butler with 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench in Friday night's loss.

Fantasy Impact: It was his first 15-point performance since Jan. 23 and sixth of the season. He has only scored over 20 points three times this year. However, he seems to be back to full health as he played 30 minutes. Gibson is a strong bench option.

Gibson had 13 points, six rebounds and a assist in Thursday night's win.

Fantasy Impact: He played 32 minutes in the win and has stepped up his game as of late. Keep him on your bench.

Gibson added nine points in Tuesday's blowout win over the visiting Kings.

Fantasy Impact: He connected on 3-8 shots, while adding three rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists in 34 minutes. He scored just six points the past two games. Gibson is still worth a back-end roster despite his weak performances as of late.

Gibson scored 12 points and 10 rebounds in Wednesday night's loss to the Rockets.

Fantasy Impact: He finished 4-9 shooting from the field and stepped up off the bench. He needs to stay on your bench, but the Bulls use him very well.

Gibson finished with four points on 2-4 shooting in 22 minutes off the bench on Friday night in Phoenix.

Fantasy Impact: He also had two assists and a rebound. He is a bench player in real life and in fantasy. But has some real worth with Pau Gasol bound to rest at some point this season at age 34 and Joakim Noah battling injuries all year.

Gibson totaled 10 points, nine rebounds, an assist and a block in 24 minutes in Tuesday's win over Golden State.

Fantasy Impact: He has been averaging just over 10 PPG over the last 10 games and he is well worth a roster spot on your bench if you have him.

Taj Gibson got 37 minutes in his start against the Spurs on Thursday. He scored 15 points with nine rebounds, four blocks and a steal.

Fantasy Impact: Taj has started the last four games with Joakim Noah out, averaging around 12 points, eight rebounds and over 2.5 blocks per game. Noah is set to return soon, which will knock Taj back to the bench, decreasing his fantasy value. Continue to ride Taj as a spot start in standard leagues until Noah comes back.

Gibson gets start against Hawks

Sun, Jan 18th 7:26pm EST
By Mike Catron

Taj Gibson played 42 minutes in his start against the Hawks on Saturday. He scored nine points, with six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Taj will probably start most games in Joakim Noah's absence. He should be picked up in standard leagues, and a good source of rebounds and blocks. Don't expect him to get 42 minutes every night. The match-up against the Hawks added to his usage in this game.

Gibson played 32 minutes, scoring 12 points on 6-9 shooting in Wednesday night's home loss to the Wizards. He also recorded six rebounds, two blocks and an assist.

Fantasy Impact: For the season, Gibson is averaging 11.1 PPG, but over his last 10 games he's averaging just 8.9. It's been hard for Gibson to get in a groove, but with Joakim Noah (sprained right ankle) possibly out for a week or so he should be able to score more. He is a must start if he is in the Bulls starting lineup.

Taj Gibson played well off the bench scoring 15 on 6-of-10 shooting while pulling down six rebounds in the Bulls loss to Utah on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact: Taj saw more playing time against the Jazz due to the Bulls terrible shooting night. I would not expect 30+ minutes to be the norm for him while everyone in the front court is healthy, but it is good to see he will always make the most of his minutes. His quality of play is worth owning in deeper leagues.

Finally healthy back from his ankle injury, Gibson added 11 points and 11 rebounds in a start with Joakim Noah out. He also added a game-high six blocks as well as three assists.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson has tremendous value when he's in the starting lineup next to Pau Gasol, but once Noah returns everyone knows the drill. Gibson will return to the Bulls' bench and should go back onto yours despite his solid efforts.

Chicago Bulls F Taj Gibson will start on Wednesday with PF Joakim Noah ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Nets. (Source: PippenAintEasy.com)

Fantasy Impact: Taj Gibson will be a must-start option tonight against the Nets. Take advantage of the opportunity while it lasts.

Gibson got the start with Pau Gasol (calf) out and the former USC star played well in Monday night's win over the Clippers. He added 20 points on 9-13 shooting, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is worth starting when he is in the Bulls' lineup hence why he is nice to have on your fantasy bench. But when Gasol returns, Gibson won't score enough to warrant a start.

Gibson adds only 2 points in loss

Sat, Nov 15th 10:31pm EST
By Jake Perper

Gibson was very quiet in 24 minutes on the floor, finishing with two points on 1-6 shooting from the field in Saturday night's loss to the Pacers.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson had 6 rebounds on the night, but struggled to get anything going offensively. That didn't help the Bulls one bit as Pau Gasol also struggled with just 12 points on 4-15 shooting. Gibson is a nice player to have on your fantasy bench, but if he isn't starting for the Bulls he shouldn't be starting for you either.

Gibson played 44 minutes getting the start for the second straight game with Joakim Noah (illness) out. Gibson scored a team-high 23 points, while raking in 10 rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: He finished 9-17 shooting from the field and had a nice rhythm offensively and defensively next to Pau Gasol, who paced Gibson with 22 points and 14 boards. When in the starting lineup, Gibson is a must start in fantasy lineups and off the bench he has some real value. He gets enough minutes to be valuable all season long.

Gibson led the Bulls with 22 points on 10-12 shooting in 28 minutes of play in Wednesday night's 104-80 season opening win over the Knicks. He also docked 8 rebounds in 28 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Gibson is a bonafide option at PF every week because of his substantial minutes off the bench. On nights like this he looks like a complete fantasy stud. Right now he needs to be in your starting lineup.

Gibson finished 8-10 shooting from the field with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. He drew the start with Joakim Noah (knee) out and played over 30 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: He is by far one of the best bench players in the league and with Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic now in town, the Bulls will have options on how they want to play them together. Gibson is the No. 33 ranked PF in Fantasy Pros rankings, but is a great player to aim for in the latter part of drafts.
