Thaddeus Young logged eight points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3PT, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, and one steal over 21 minutes in Tuesday's 108-103 win over the Cavaliers.
Young was able to take full advantage of his starting gig over 16 games while Lauri Markkanen was nursing a hip injury, but Markkanen's re-entrance into the starting lineup has decimated Young's value who is only averaging 11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assist, 2.5 steals, and 0.8 blocks over his last four outings while seeing a minute decrease in each game. He only saw 21 minutes in Tuesday's contest and is safe to drop in all formats.
Thaddeus Young provided 17 points (6-14 FG, 2-6 3PT, 3-6 FT) five rebounds, two steals and two turnovers across 25 minutes in Sunday's 110-107 loss to the Nets.
Young has now scored double figures in three of his last four contests in March. He is averaging 12.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 0.8 blocks during the month. His minutes are trending downward (36,29,26,25), but Young produces enough to be considered adding in standard leagues. The Bulls next scheduled game is Tuesday, home against the Cavaliers.
Thaddeus Young amassed 13 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3PT), six rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks over 29 minutes in Wednesday's 115-108 loss to the Timberwolves.
Young looked great in Lauri Markkanen's absence where he averaged 14.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 1.9 assists, and 0.5 blocks over 15 games. Even though Markkanen returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday, Young outpaced him in every statistical category, including minutes. Don't expect that trend to continue however, as Markkanen's minutes should go back to normal while Young gets his 21-26 per game.
Thaddeus Young amassed 12 points (5-12 FG, 0-3 3PT, 2-3 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, and one steal over 36 minutes in Monday's 109-107 win over the Mavericks.
Young has recorded at least 29 points in all 15 games he has started in Lauri Markkanen's absence and has turned in 14.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 1.9 assists, and 0.5 blocks per game over that stretch while shooting 43.9% from deep. While no official news has been released yet, it appears that Markkanen will be returning soon, relegating Young back to the bench and killing the value he's brought to fantasy owners over the last few weeks.
Thaddeus Young recorded 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-7 3PT), five steals, three rebounds, and two assists over 32 minutes in Saturday's 125-115 loss to the Knicks.
The 13th-year power forward has always had a penchant for sniffing out steals but the five that he swiped on Saturday mark his season-high. Young was forced to start all nine games for the Bulls this month in the wake of a hip injury to starting forward Lauri Markkanen. Young plays a very different style of ball than his younger counterpart but put up similar numbers. Outside of steals (where Young had a whopping 2.7 per game), Young's February numbers were within Markkanen's season averages by 0.3 in every category. Young will finish the month averaging 14.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 steals, 1.6 assists, and 0.6 blocks. He's worth owning in all leagues until Markkanen returns.
