Expert Analysis

Garoppolo doesn't have a ton of weapons at his disposal and plays behind a suspect offensive line, but he could hold some value in the right spots. The Bears' defense has allowed an average of 253 passing yards and two touchdowns per game over their last three outings, so there is a bit of upside to be had. He's usable in two-quarterback leagues, but he's still just a fringe QB2 at best this week.

The Bears defense can be sneaky, but overall it's a good match-up for Garoppolo in his first start as the 49ers quarterback. Unfortunately for Jimmy G, he doesn't exactly have the best of weapons. However, he's coming from a system that gets everyone involved and he'll look to do that in week 13. Fantasy owners of Carlos Hyde should just hope that he checks down as much as Beathard did, since Hyde has seen 50 targets through the last six games.

Garoppolo might be getting his first start as a 49er, but he's not much of a prospect for fantasy football this year. The 49ers offense as a whole isn't high powered enough to make him relevant as anything but a borderline start in 2QB leagues.

A month after the 49ers acquired him, Garoppolo now gets his first opportunity to start. Bears have allowed 11th-fewest touchdown passes to opposing QBs and with only a month in Kyle Shanahan's system, Garoppolo is a QB2 this week. For more fantasy analysis from the news, check out
