Matt Barrows of The Athletic reported on Wednesday that Delanie Walker and the San Francisco 49ers had engaged in "soft talks" regarding bringing his talents to the Bay Area. The 49ers are also in talks with oft-injured former Washington tight end Jordan Reed. Presently, the 49ers have fourth year tight end Ross Dwelley and sixth-round pick Charlie Woerner filling out the depth chart. (The Athletic)
With George Kittle already firmly entrenched as the lead receiver on the team Delanie Walker's hypothetical role in the offense would be limited. A deal makes good football sense for both sides, but likely wouldn't make Walker fantasy relevant in 2020.
