New England Patriots and Bill O'Brien have mutual interest in OC search

by Avram Avramov | Patriots Correspondent | Thu, Feb 3rd 1:13pm EST

Per Patriots beat writer Zack Cox, the New England Patriots and Bill O'Brien have mutual interest for the team's vacant offensive coordinator position after the departure of Josh McDaniels. (Zack Cox on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

O'Brien was with the Patriots in the same position from 2009 to 2011 and knows the team and organization very well which makes a move like this very logical. While O'Brien didn't have as much success being the HC in Houston he has landed on his feet being the offensive coordinator for Alabama where he actually overlapped with current Patriots QB Mac Jones. While New England will still have to interview other candidates it's fair to say that O'Brien is probably a favorite at this early stage.
