Fantasy Impact:

McBride, the top TE in the 2022 draft class for most NFL draft experts, was simply dominate while playing for Colorado State. Over the past two seasons McBride accounted for 38.1% of Colorado State’s passing yards, an absurd number for any receiving option, but especially incredible for a tight end. Jacksonville presents an intriguing landing spot for McBride, as their new head coach Doug Pederson is known for running offenses that heavily feature the tight end position, but the Jaguars already have starting caliber TE’s in Evan Engram and Dan Arnold in house. Tight end committees crush players’ fantasy value and tight ends rarely provide much fantasy relevance in their first year or two entering the league as the position has one of the steepest learning curves for young players. For those reasons, McBride isn’t likely to be a starting caliber fantasy option in 2022 redraft leagues but he is a worthwhile investment in dynasty leagues.
