Marcus Mariota released by Atlanta

The Atlanta Falcons have announced that they are releasing QB Marcus Mariota after one season with the team. (atlantafalcons.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Mariota was benched late in the season in favor of rookie QB Desmond Ridder. It is unclear if his release is a sign of faith in Ridder or if it’s evidence they plan to bring in another QB, either a free agent veteran or another drafted rookie. For now, Ridder is the team’s QB1, the Falcons save $12 million and Mariota can look for a fourth team in his career.
