Jalen Carter selected No. 9 by Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have selected DL Jalen Carter with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Philly traded the No. 10 pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick to the Chicago Bears for the No. 9 pick.

Fantasy Impact:

Jalen Carter was at the top of many teams’ draft boards before being involved in illegal street racing in the wee hours of the morning following Georgia’s National Championship win. Thor Nystrom has Carter as No. 4 overall and DL1 with an NFL player comp of Ndamukong Suh on his Top 500 big board. The Eagles took Carter’s former college teammate DL Jordan Davis in the first round in 2022 and they went back to the Bulldog well again this season. Carter is a giant on the defensive line at 6’3”, 314 lbs and the Eagles got arguably the best player in this year’s draft at the discounted price of the 9th overall pick. Carter joins a defensive line in Philadelphia that led the NFL in sacks last year and nearly won the Super Bowl. The rich get richer, so to speak. If Carter can keep his nose clean, after pleading no contest to reckless driving and racing back in March, the sky is the limit for the two-time National Champion.
