Austin Pettis creeping up the San Diego depth chart

Austin Pettis has apparently took a leap in the Chargers depth chart as he is now listed as the team's second slot receiver behind Stevie Johnson. He has made impressive catches throughout camp and has been efficient in redzone targets. When asked about Pettis, here's what quarterback Philip Rivers had to say. "Austin’s done a nice job. I haven’t been in there with him much, but I think what stands out to me from him is you can tell he’s played in this league, and made plays in this league.He shows up on the tape when you’re going back through the film on one-on-ones and things. He’s a guy that’s physical and really has picked up the offense well." (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
The Chargers are going to throw the ball often. However, despite the total team targets being high, it is going to be tough trying to steal reps away from Malcom Floyd, Keenan Allen, and Stevie Johnson. At this point, the receiving group is just too crowded for him to make a fantasy impact.
