Justin Jefferson aiming to return before Week 1

by Jordan Epp | Vikings Correspondent | Tue, Jul 29th 3:43pm EDT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) is not looking to be shut down until the regular season and could be back "sooner rather than later," according to head coach Kevin O'Connell. (Kevin Seifert on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

O'Connell said that Jefferson "doesn't want to stay wearing what I wear to practice much longer," indicating that he is targeting a return to practice before the start of the regular season. Minnesota kicks off its year on Sept. 8 in Chicago, giving Jefferson over a month to rest as he looks to fully recover. Soft-tissue injuries are tricky, and the Vikings will want to preserve their star receiver for the long run.
