Minnesota Vikings

NFC North

Alexander Mattison (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers. (Source: Minnesota Vikings on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Mattison was unable to practice this week due to ankle injury and was ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Chargers. Mike Boone and Ameer Abdullah will handle the backup running back duties behind starter Dalvin Cook. Both could see additional carries as Cook is currently dealing with a shoulder injury.

Adam Thielen has been removed from the Week 15 injury report and is expected to play. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Thielen can be counted on to play this weeks against the Chargers, but can you trust him? Thielen is not a must-play, but expect less than normal from the receiver who figures to be a low-end WR2 this week. This will likely take away from Diggs' ceiling and limit both the floor and ceiling of Kyle Rudolph.

Minnesota Vikings superstar running back was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, and should be full go for this weekend's contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. (Source: Minnesota Vikings on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Dalvin Cook is good to go after being rested for the entire fourth quarter last week against the Detroit Lions. Fellow running back Alexander Mattison missed Wednesday's practice with a ankle injury, and if he is forced to miss Sunday's contest Cook could see a slightly expanded workload. Cook is a strong RB1 option against a Chargers defense surrendering 4.15 yards per carry, and 5.54 receptions per game to the running back position.

Harrison Smith finished Sunday’s 20-7 win over the Detroit Lions with three solo tackles and one interception.

Fantasy Impact: Smith is currently second on the team in total tackles with 74 tackles through Week 14. He is a deeper IDP target only.

Category: Game Recaps

Danielle Hunter racked up seven total tackles (six solo), and three sacks during Sunday’s 20-7 win over the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Impact: Hunter leads all Vikings in sacks with 12.5 through Week 14. He should be started in most leagues. Hunter will have a great shot to add to his sack totals in each of the remaining three games.

Category: Game Recaps

Dan Bailey made both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point attempts in the Vikings’ 20-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: After missing a PAT in Week 13, Bailey came on strong Sunday, drilling all four of his kicks in the rout of Detroit. He'll face the Chargers in Week 15.

Minnesota Vikings D/ST recorded five sacks and two INTs in the Vikings’ 20-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: It was a nice bounce-back effort after Minnesota was hammered by Seattle in Week 13 for 37 points. Next up on the schedule is a Chargers team led by Philip Rivers, who has been generous with his interceptions in 2019.

Category: Game Recaps

Laquon Treadwell brought in both of his targets for 42 yards in the Vikings’ 20-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Treadwell finished second to only Stefon Diggs (92) in receiving yards Sunday, though his two targets weren't encouraging. Treadwell has been a big-play dependent option all year, and he doesn't warrant fantasy consideration outside of very deep leagues.

Category: Game Recaps

Irv Smith Jr. caught three of four targets for 21 yards in the Vikings’ 20-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Once again, Smith Jr. was barely involved in the passing game, amassing a modest receiving total in Sunday's win. He's been mostly a non-factor in his rookie campaign and can be ignored in most fantasy formats.

Category: Game Recaps

Stefon Diggs corralled six of nine targets for 92 yards in the Vikings’ 20-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Diggs led the Vikings in receiving Sunday, amassing a healthy receiving line in the blowout win. He'll continue to operate as the unquestioned No. 1 while Adam Thielen is sidelined.

Category: Game Recaps

Kyle Rudolph caught both of his targets for 11 yards in the Vikings’ 20-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Rudolph's scoring streak ended at four as he fell back to earth for a pedestrian final stat line. The Vikings' passing game played it safe Sunday in the comfortable win, and Rudolph will have a chance to rebound next week against the Chargers.

Category: Game Recaps

Bisi Johnson caught his lone target for a nine-yard TD in the Vikings’ 20-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: The touchdown was nice to see, but Johnson just hasn't been involved enough in the offense without Adam Thielen to warrant fantasy consideration. He doesn't need to be picked up, no matter the health of Thielen moving forward.

Category: Game Recaps

Kirk Cousins completed 24 of 30 pass attempts for 242 yards and a TD, losing one yard on a single carry in the Vikings’ 20-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: It was a disappointing effort for Cousins, especially considering the caliber of the opponent, though the blowout nature of Sunday's victory lent itself more to a run-heavy approach. Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison combined for 32 carries, as Cousins cruised to an efficient, if unexciting, day. Next up is an exploitable matchup with the Chargers in Week 15.

Anthony Barr ended Monday’s 37-30 loss to Seattle with 11 total tackles (seven solo).

Fantasy Impact: Barr is currently third on the team in total tackles with 65 through Week 13. He should only be played in deeper IDP leagues.

Category: Game Recaps

Anthony Harris finished Monday’s 37-30 loss to the Seahawks with seven total tackles (two solo) and an interception that was taken to the house for six.

Fantasy Impact: Harris currently has 52 total tackles, four picks, and one touchdown through Week 13. He has an excellent opportunity to add another interception in three of his next four games. (Lions, Chargers, and Bears)

Category: Game Recaps

CJ Ham caught both of his targets for 42 yards in the Vikings’ 37-30 loss to the Seahawks on Monday.

Fantasy Impact: Ham has been virtually invisible all season, and his 42-yard effort doesn't move the needle. He should remain on waivers.

Josh Doctson waived by Vikings

By Brendan Tuma

The Vikings waived wide receiver Josh Doctson. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Doctson played just 11 snaps in Week 11 for Minnesota. The former first round pick will now look elsewhere for a job. His departure is likely a signal that Adam Thielen (hamstring) is ready to return.

Andrew Sendejo ended Sunday’s 27-23 win over the Broncos with seven total tackles and an interception.

Fantasy Impact: Sendejo was filling in for Anthony Harris (groin) and came up big for Minnesota. He has 33 total tackles through Week 11 along with two interceptions and one sack. The Vikings are on Bye in Week 12 so Sendejo can stay on waivers for the time being.

Category: Game Recaps

Ameer Abdullah rushed once for five yards, adding two receptions for 11 yards in the Vikings’ 27-23 comeback win over the Broncos on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Abdullah did his part in Sunday's win, chipping in three touches as a change-of-pace for Dalvin Cook. He's still behind Cook and Alexander Mattison and doesn't warrant fantasy consideration at this time.

Category: Game Recaps

Mike Hughes racked up seven solo tackles during Sunday’s 28-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Impact: Hughes started for Trae Waynes (personal) and put in a solid effort. He can be left on waivers in most leagues but is worth remembering in deeper dynasty formats as a potential late-season add.
