Minnesota Vikings

NFC North

Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Eagles have signed LB Eric Wilson to a one-year deal worth up to $3.25M. (Source: Mike Garafolo on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Wilson, 26-years old, is coming off his first year as a full-time starter for the Vikings during which he totaled 122 tackles, three interceptions, and three sacks. The one-year deal will be worth up to $3.25M and presents a good value for Philadelphia as they get a player coming off a career year with special teams experience as well.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Ameer Abdullah is re-signing with the Vikings. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: Abdullah saw limited action during the 2020 NFL season. He produced 42 yards on eight carries and caught eight passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns. The Vikings let Mike Boone walk so they needed some insurance and depth incase Dalvin Cook or Alexander Mattison went down with injury. Abdullah has no fantasy value and is not worth rostering.

Anthony Harris is signing a one-year, $5 million deal with the Eagles, according to Adam Schefter. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Harris will presumably replace fellow safety Jalen Mills, who left the Eagles for the Patriots earlier this week. Harris, Pro Football Focus' 38th-ranked safety last season, appeared in every game last season for the Vikings - totaling 58 tackles, seven passes defended, and two tackles for loss.

The Vikings will not be tendering running back Mike Boone. He becomes an unrestricted free agent and is free to sign with any team when the new league year begins on Wednesday. (Source: Chris Tomasson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Boone, 25, spent the past three years in a depth role with the Vikings. Through 40 games (two starts), he amassed 71 carries for 379 yards and four touchdowns. Ultimately pushed to an RB3 role with Minnesota due to Alexander Mattison's presence, Boone could be a popular target in free agency for teams in search of an affordable backup option.

Minnesota Vikings WR Chad Beebe is now in line to potentially become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday, as a deal to stay in Minnesota seems unlikely. (Source: Chris Tomasson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The third-year receiver caught 20 receptions for 201 yards and two touchdowns across 10 games for the Vikings in 2020. The slot receiver has the speed and hands to be a valuable asset in free agency, which it appears he will soon be hitting barring any sudden re-signing in Minnesota.

Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Vikings have restructured LB Anthony Barr’s contract. (Source: Jeremy Fowler on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Vikings have created a little bit more cap space heading into free agency as they have restructured Barr’s contract which will reduce his previous $12.3M salary. This deal also makes Barr a free agent in 2022, as he previously had three years left on his deal. Barr, a four-time Pro Bowler who turns 29-years old spent the majority of 2020 on IR after a Week 2 pectoral tear.

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Vikings are releasing OT Riley Reiff saving the team over $11 million in cap space. (Source: Adam Schefter on twitter)

Fantasy Impact: After four seasons with the Vikings, the team has decided to part ways with veteran OT Riley Reiff. The move will save the team $11 million in cap space. Reiff started 58 games in his career over four seasons with the team.

Minnesota Vikings K Dan Bailey has been released by the organization after three seasons, as reported by ESPN's Dianna Russini. (Source: Dianna Russini on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Bailey struggled during a few clutch moments for the Vikings in 2020, finishing the season 15-of-22 with his longest conversion coming from 53 yards. Unfortunately, the veteran kicker only managed to go 6-of-12 from 40+ yards, contributing to the ongoing kicking woes that Minnesota has endured for years. Bailey will likely end up competing for a starting job as he hits free agency, although he will need to improve his accuracy to return value for fantasy managers in 2021.

Following his release by the Vikings last week, Kyle Rudolph is now reportedly interested in joining the New England Patriots. (Source: NESN.com)

Fantasy Impact: Rudolph would be an interesting addition to the New England tight end room. If Rudolph were to become the starting tight end for the Patriots next season he would be a very interesting weekly streaming candidate for fantasy managers.

Minnesota Vikings D/ST racked up a sack, an INT, and a fumble recovery in the Vikings’ 37-35 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: This wasn't a great game for Minnesota's defense, though there's no surprise here. This unit has plenty of work to do in the offseason to come back more respectably in 2021.

Irv Smith Jr. caught two of three targets for 30 yards in the Vikings’ 37-35 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Smith Jr.'s performance was a bit disappointing on a night where Kirk Cousins threw for 405 yards. He posted 36/311/2 across 16 games as a rookie and went 30/365/5 across 11 games in his second season. Smith Jr. will look to take the next step forward in his third season in 2021.

Adam Thielen brought in four of five targets for 57 yards in the Vikings’ 37-35 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: He ends the season with 25 yards and a career-high 14 touchdowns. Thielen will be on the WR2/3 map in 2021, as the emergence of Justin Jefferson has certainly decreased the former's fantasy value.

Justin Jefferson caught nine of 12 targets for 133 yards in the Vikings’ 37-35 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Jefferson's huge day capped off a remarkable rookie year, as he set the rookie receiving record with 1,400 yards in 2020. The mark broke Anquan Boldin's 2003 record of 1,377 yards. Jefferson's monster campaign should make him an early-to-mid-round fantasy selection in 2021 drafts.

Alexander Mattison rushed 21 times for 95 yards and a TD and caught all three of his targets for 50 yards and an additional score in the Vikings’ 37-35 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: With Dalvin Cook out of action, Mattison handled the bulk of MInnesota's backfield work and rumbled for 145 yards and two scores. It was a nice ending to the season for Mattison managers who were burned by him earlier in the year.

Kirk Cousins completed 28 of 40 pass attempts for 405 yards and three TDs and carried five times for one yard and a TD in the Vikings’ 37-35 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Cousins lit up the Lions for a season-high 405 yards while adding his only rushing score of the season. He finishes the 2020 campaign with career highs in passing touchdowns (35) and total touchdowns (36) and the fifth 4,000-yard season of his career.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook had to return to his hometown Miami, FL to handle a family emergency and won’t play in Week 17. (Source: Courtney Cronin on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Week 17 is a meaningless game for the Vikings, so Cook has been given the okay to be away from the team this week. The 25-year-old finishes the regular season with 1,557 rushing yards and 17 total touchdowns in 14 games. It was a heroic performance for fantasy managers who used their first-round pick on him. Cook will once again be a top-five pick in 2021 drafts. Expect Alexander Mattison (concussion) to be given a bigger workload if he can get cleared for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Vikings LB Eric Kendricks (calf) will miss his fourth straight game in Week 16 against the Saints. (Source: Chris Tomasson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Kendricks also appears unlikely to play in the regular season finale next weekend. His absence on Christmas Day is a plus for Alvin Kamara.

Category: Injury Updates

Tyler Conklin brought in three of four targets for 57 yards and a TD in the Vikings’ 33-27 loss to the Bears on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: The third-year man secured his first career touchdown and finished behind only Justin Jefferson for team lead in receiving yards. Conklin has shined in his last two games, but he may head back to a bench role if Kyle Rudolph returns in Week 16.

Tajae Sharpe waived by Vikings

By Brendan Tuma

The Vikings waived WR Tajae Sharpe. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Sharpe signed as a free agent this past offseason. The former fifth-round pick saw three targets but didn't catch a pass this year. He could latch on elsewhere once he clears waivers.

C.J. Ham rushed once for no gain and caught all three of his targets for 22 yards in the Vikings’ 26-14 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: The fullback grabbed a few passes out of the backfield, but he didn’t contribute any meaningful fantasy numbers. There’s no reason for him to be on fantasy rosters.
