Fantasy Impact: Minnesota sends a 2026 6th-round pick and pick No. 160 this year to San Francisco in exchange for Mason and pick No. 187. The 49ers had placed a second-round tender on Mason, but they have instead elected to trade him. The Vikings were at times last season attempting to run a committee between Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler, so it'll be worth monitoring to see if the Vikings give Mason the role they were trying to give Chandler last season.

Daniel Jones has agreed to a one-year, $14 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts. Jones now becomes the primary competition for incumbent Anthony Richardson. (Source: Adam Schefter via X)

Fantasy Impact: Whether or not this move will improve the Colts is up for debate. On the one hand, unless Richardson vastly improves, they need another option at QB. On the other hand, is Jones much better? Both quarterbacks are capable runners, so the fit is decent regardless of who is behind center. But the passing game especially could struggle this year no matter who wins the job. Fantasy managers will need to play close attention over the offseason to the progress of both Jones and Richardson.

The Vikings agreed to terms with RG Will Fries, formerly of the Colts, on a five-year, $88 million contract. (Source: Jeremy Fowler on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Fries was one of the top offensive lineman in free agency. He is working his way back from a broken tibia that required surgery. He should be fully healthy heading into next season.

Quarterback Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks are finalizing a deal to land the veteran QB for three years for "nearly $100 million." (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Darnold comes in to replace Geno Smith, who had one year left on his deal when he was traded to Las Vegas. In a similar mold, the Seahawks are banking on a one-year breakout again, but Darnold is much younger (27) and is coming off of a 35-TD season with 4,319 yards. While it remains to be seen what else Seattle does this offseason, the one-time Pro Bowler Darnold will play alongside WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba and RBs Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet in 2025 and beyond.

Fantasy Impact: Jones’ deal includes $13 million guaranteed for the running back coming off a solid first season as part of an explosive Minnesota offense, rushing for a career-high 1,138 yards in 2024. Questions remain at quarterback, but Jones remains a solid RB2 option with upside going into the 2025 season.

Vikings OT Christian Darrisaw (knee) is making strong progress recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee, performed in early November 2024. HC Kevin O’Connell gave a positive update this week, noting Darrisaw is “absolutely killing it” in rehab and expressing optimism about his spring and summer timeline. The standout left tackle missed significant time last season but remains a key piece protecting whoever lines up at quarterback for Minnesota in 2025, though the starter remains TBD.

Fantasy Impact: Darrisaw’s return is a indirect boost for fantasy owners eyeing Vikings passers or runners—think Sam Darnold, J.J. McCarthy, or Aaron Jones. His elite blind-side blocking steadies the offense, but the knee’s long-term outlook matters after such a heavy injury. If he’s back to full strength by camp, he lifts the floor for Minnesota’s skill guys; if not, expect some early-season turbulence. No fantasy points here directly, but his rehab updates could nudge Jones or the QB1 up your rankings.

Fantasy Impact: Ham apparently played through the injury at the end of this past season. He should be fully healthy once the offseason activities begin.
