The Washington Commanders are reportedly entertaining trade talks for fourth-year running back Brian Robinson Jr. (Jordan Schultz on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Robinson is entering the final year of his contract as a former third-round pick, and this move could be a sign that Washington believes rookie RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt is ready to take on a significant role in their offense. In fact, Commanders reporter Ben Standig recently predicted that Croskey-Merritt would not only make the Commanders' 53-man roster, but that the team could shop Robinson because of how impressed they are with the rookie. Veteran Austin Ekeler had a strong season as the team's RB2, but he is 30 years old, and Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy McNichols have had flashes in the rotation. Robinson has averaged just under 1,000 scrimmage yards and over six touchdowns over three seasons.
