With the Chiefs locked into their current playoff spot, head coach Andy Reid is taking the opportunity to rest Mahomes and some of the team’s other starters. Blaine Gabbert will make the start for the Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes II completed 21-of-29 pass attempts for 245 yards and one touchdown while also rushing four times for two yards and losing a fumble in the Chiefs' 25-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.

Mahomes II continues to offer mixed results behind center of late, finishing with two or less passing touchdowns as well as at least one turnover in each of the last five games for the Chiefs. The superstar signal caller will look for better results against a less than imposing Los Angeles Chargers secondary in Week 18.
Patrick Mahomes II completed 27 of 44 passes for 235 yards, one touchdown, and one interception during the Chiefs' 20-14 loss to the Raiders in Week 16. He also took four sacks and rushed for 53 yards on 10 attempts.

Mahomes didn't have the greatest day passing, but he made up for it by leading the team in rushing yards. The 28-year-old has finished with fewer than 20 fantasy points in each of his last four games but is still a must-start in many formats' respective championships.

Despite a couple of picks, this was a rebound effort of sorts for Mahomes. The defending MVP threw for over 300 yards for the first time since Week 7 and multiple touchdowns for the first time since Week 12. Mahomes will look to keep things rolling on Christmas Day against the Raiders.
