Tyler Eifert is signing a two-year, $15.5 million contract with the Jaguars.
Eifert will reunite with Jaguars offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. He totaled 43 catches for 436 yards and three touchdowns across 16 games for the Bengals in 2019. It was the only season in which he played 16 contests in his entire NFL career. With the move to Jacksonville, Eifert’s fantasy value doesn’t change much, and he should be considered a borderline TE2 for 2020 fantasy drafts.
The Jaguars and free agent Tyler Eifert are working diligently towards closing a deal.
It's been a few years since Eifert has been relevant in fantasy circles, but a change of teams could help get him back on track. Jaguars' coach Doug Marrone must be hoping that he can wind back the clock and get 2015-like numbers out of the former first-round pick, who had 52 receptions for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns that year. If healthy, it's tough to imagine a scenario where James O'Shaughnessy outperforms Eifert enough at camp to retain the starting role. In a year with a lot of solid options at tight end, Eifert will only be on the radar in the deepest of leagues.
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert caught both of his targets for 34 yards in a 33-23 win over the Browns in Week 17.
Eifert finishes with 43 catches for 434 yards and three touchdowns. The long-time Bengal is now a free agent and is unlikely to be back in Cincinnati.
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert caught 4-of-8 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in a 38-35 overtime loss to Miami in Week 16.
Eifert found the end zone for the first time since Week 10 and just the third time all season. He will not be a recommended fantasy option against the Browns in Week 17.
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert caught 3-of-5 targets for 44 yards in a 34-13 loss to the Patriots in Week 15.
Eifert's 44-yard game goes down as his third-highest yardage total of the season. The veteran tight end has just two touchdowns on the season. He will not be a strong fantasy option in Week 16 against the Dolphins.
