Up into my top-12 TEs. At this point in the draft, I'd rather draft a potential young breakout in Hooper rather than an older guy like Jimmy Graham or even Jordan Reed.

Hooper has finished as the TE 37/17/6 in his first three seasons as a pro. He's extremely athletic, posting an above average height adjusted speed score, an above average agility score, and an above average catch radius. Hooper doesn't turn 25 until November, and is the clear cut starter on an elite offense. Hooper was efficient in the red zone last season, catching 9 of 13 red zone targets. His 4 TD's all came from inside the red zone, but he should see some positive TD luck in the Falcons high powered offense. Hooper is a virtual lock to finish the season as a TE 1, and yet he's still available in the final rounds of drafts.

It may have been the quietest top-six tight end finish of all time for Hooper last year, but that's where he was at. Now, his totals were inflated due to more passing than the Falcons wanted to do last year, as their defense was in shambles, forcing them to air it out against opponents. Hooper saw what was a career-high 88 targets because of that. With Calvin Ridley entering his second year, he figures to be more involved as well. Despite his top-six finish, Hooper posted top-12 type numbers just 37.5 percent of the time, which was tied with Jimmy Graham, and Trey Burton for 13th among tight ends, so there were some big performances to help him get there, and not so much consistency.

It may not have been as consistent as we would all have liked, but Hooper ended up as the #7 fantasy tight end in 2018 thanks to a few huge performances. While he makes for an excellent best ball tight end, you are better off leaving him on your waivers in a standard-sized re-draft league.

Hooper had a nice season with 71 receptions for 660 yards and 4 touchdowns. He figures to be on the borderline of TE1 production this year.
