RB - HOU
With the addition of David Johnson, there are a lot of unknowns here in Houston and this backfield. Duke should remain the pass-catching specialist, while David carries the ball primarily in-between the tackles. If we see David struggle again with injury though, Duke could be in line for a huge workload.
I also feel like with David Johnson's injury history, I had to move Duke up.
Despite continually being one of the most efficient running backs in football, it seems there's no head coach who wants to give Johnson his shot at a bigger role. This will be his sixth season in the NFL and he's never topped 104 carries in a season despite the fact that he's averaged 4.5 yards per carry (4.91 over the last four years) over his career. Now having to deal with David Johnson, whose best attribute is catching passes out of the backfield, it's unlikely Duke has any value with David healthy. However, it needs to be stated that David has played just 22 full games over the last three years and will be 29 years old at the end of the season. Should he miss time, Duke might get the opportunity that we've been waiting for.
Chances are, you won't need to use an RB or WR from a late-round pick in the first week of the season, but if injuries, suspensions or holdouts strike, as they often do, Johnson could come in handy. The Chiefs were one of the worst teams against fantasy running backs last year, and as you may have guessed, they were torn up through the air with teams trying to play catch-up. Duke doesn't have much seasonal upside but is a steady RB4/RB5 who should benefit from that exact game-script in Week 1.
Could be pressed into a large role this year at some point as Houston offense full of injury-prone types
