If you're fortunate to land Jones late in the first, consider yourself one lucky person. While some have said he's inconsistent, the numbers tell a different story. He's finished with WR1 numbers in 40.4 percent of his career games, which ranks second to only Odell Beckham Jr. since 2001. If you think he's too "boom or bust," the only players who have posted a higher WR3 percentage than his (73.4 percent) are Beckham Jr., Antonio Brown, A.J. Green, and Michael Thomas. He's a stud who is due for some positive touchdown regression. He might be the only one who can compete with Brown for the top wide receiver spot.

Julio Jones will skip minicamp

The Atlanta Falcons released a statement from GM Thomas Dimitroff that confirmed star WR Julio Jones will officially hold out of mandatory minicamps, which are set to begin on June 12. Dimitroff's statement, in full, read: "We have been in contact with Julio and his representation. We will not discuss those conversations publicly except to say we feel they have been productive and constructive. We understand the concerns and thoughts from their perspective. Although not ideal, Julio informed us today he would not be attending mini-camp. We have much respect for him and what he means to our team, our city, and our fans."

Fantasy Impact

Jones has three years remaining on a six-year $81.432 million deal that he signed in 2015 and is seeking an extension or re-worked contract that will pay him more. Jones is set to earn $10.5 million in 2018, which ranks just 12th among NFL wide receivers. The positive here is that this situation is being brought to a head early, leaving plenty of time for both sides to come together. Jones is an elite player who won't need the reps to be ready, so perhaps avoiding minicamp will simply reduce the odds that he gets hurt. With it being so early, it's presumptive to think this will affect Jones's regular season status, so feel free to keep targeting Jones near the turn of Round One of PPR drafts.
